I've installed TR2 on my Vista and applied the XP patch from TRC.com but for some reason I keep getting a few seconds delay during the in-game cut-scenes. Rest of the game works OK (got FMVs and music) but this problem really bugs me and I cannot fix it.
Any ideas what else I can try?

it seems like a normaly Windows Vista system fault, i believe that you can get rid of this problem by using xp... you can also try to go in to the TR2.exe file (or whatever its called) and set it to run it on windows XP Pack 2.

Thanks, tried that but no good. Looks like the game is doomed because on XP my GF8800GTS drives mess up the skybox textures but on Vista, while those got fixed, the sound issue happens. :(
I do recall having it last year on my old PC (running XP SP2) but I just cannot remember what I did to fix it.
Any idea if it can be fixed by running the game from PC itself? Doing and image and running with a virtual driver didn't help either but perhaps there's a way to copy the files ala TR3 XP fix?

it can also be because of, it is actually made for some of the first windows game drives. it might never going to work on the new ones.

I have all the originals playing on Vista. I'm sorry I can't help but I know for a fact that TR2 can play perfectly fine on Vista. Keep looking for your solution, the game is definitely worth it.

Thanks! It does gives hope. :)
Could you tell me what you did starting from installation to the gampley? I mean setting-wise?

try downloading the multipatcher (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr2/fixes.html), and make sure that you have a non pirated version.

Already applied it. And its definitely not a pirated version - got it back in 98' when the game was first released.

first of all, that may be the problem.
But for the sake of it, you can check that there are no scratches on the disc.

Checked it as well, the disc is in good condition and I have plated it on XP before. Now it seems since I got Vista and new graphic card its been having few seconds delay during in-game cut-scenes only. Rest of the game plays smoothly (as well as sound effects, music and FMVs).

YUP, thats because of that its an old game, and it apparently cant work with these new and more powerfull things you added to your vista.

I'm having the same problem too, and as of yet I haven't figured it out.
