Zip in new trailer

I was just watching the game play trailer the other day and thought,
how can Zip be bad, when he appears to be with lara in the flashlight scene and the old guy, and alister may be with them, so maybe no one shot each other, and the gun shot came from a different scene to excite us.

Well for one that flashlight scene could happen before he goes bad or the drop it zip scene goes down. but i gotta with ya on the gunshot came from another scene.

still doesn't explain him shooting at lara though which will be a mystery till the game is released

Well yes, he is seen with Lara in other scenes, but the fact remains he is still seen with a gun that clearly goes off
Whether he is bad or just scared or suspicious or something remains to be seen.

Well considering how big this storyline is seeming. I dont think they'll be giving us alot of new trailers for the game. They want most of this stuff to be a shocker or suprise us and if they give away too much of the storyline, it would be a damper

No one knows the answers to all our questions apart from Crystal Dynamics.
The points of the trailers are to raise these questions so we will be hyped up about the game.
Crystal Dynamics are not going to give us all the answers we want and we are supposed to wait for the game so we can discover the answers ourselves.

the two bits look like they r from diferent scenes on closer inspection... he shoots a vase or something which is behind her, and then when it cuts to her AMAZING line, the surroundings are on fire... so im guessing they just pout that like that to stirr things up a bit...

My thoughts on the whole thing... Zips a good guy... and Lara wants to find he mother and get to the underworld so bad she's doing things that arnt exactly... wise... so hes trying to stop her from doing anything foolish... like destroy the world as we know it...

i think that he was shooting natla behind lara. cause someone in a different thread had a pic of a red blob. i think lara just got a excited and that it was either amanda, her entity, or natla. if not them, then some other evil person. jeez. im done with conspircies and theories. 3 more months till the game! why not sooner!

Remember when Lara said (or I heard wrong :scratch: ): "Drop it Zip or I'll drop you!" or something like that. I wanna know what are you thinking guys about my theory?

for me its simple...
we were told early on that if Lara pursues the hammer she could destruct the world...
as zip gathers all her information he knows this too...
He thinks shes in over her head on this 1...
tries to stop her...but she doesnt stop, so he finally decides to shoot her rather than let the world be destroyed

*and personally i dont see the need for the spoiler tags because everyone on these forums has more than likely watched the gameplay trailer and anything that was put in the trailer must not be the biggest plot twists in the game cus that would just be stupid...

theres obviously far bigger things going on than Natla making a comeback

Where does this whole theory about a fake Lara come from? Is it actual information or just speculation. It seems a little 'out there' to me.

I don't think that this theory is just "out there", I mean we know the whole doppelganger thingy from TR/TRA. Remember the skeleton Lara in the pyramid? Maybe Natla somehow managed to make the technique perfect?

*if zip betrayed lara*
amanda, or natla probably promised zip more money, or fame or immortality if he killed lara.

*if zip is not evil*
he might have seen something like a ghost, or amanda's fluffy. and lara just misinterpreted it

that brings me to another theory, what if there are spirits or something in her house that causes her to blow it up.

As such he's refusing to give the belt to her (which will allow her to wield Thor's Hammer) for her own good ... it may come off as betrayal to us, but he has her best interests in mind. As such, it may cost him his life ... best not to get in the way of Lara and what she wants *chuckles*.

Just wanna say that errybady noticed that scene in the gameplay trailer
When Zip shoots Lara n she dodges the bullet then she says : "Drop it Zip or I'll drop You !!!!!!" n FULL-STOP, nobody ever discussed the other gunshot we hear right after she says that line, which means that Zip might have killed Lara or Vice Versa or maybe the someone else, could be Alistair or Amanda or Natla or some other new character targets either Zip or Lara, n u hear that gunshot when the screen is fully black.

I noticed something new in the trailer. I think Tomb-Dude noticed it or someone else told me they noticed it. But I think that scene with the flashlights happens right before Zip's gunshot because if you listen closely, right when the cymbals crash, you hear a slight hint of a gunshot. It's around 1:15.

I'm going to go against the grain here and propose an alternative theory:

When Zip shoots at Lara, he misses by a lot. I think he is shooting PAST Lara at someone else. Also, Lara turns and looks in the direction Zip was shooting as if to see what he was shooting at. It is very brief, it's about a half second at 1:41 in the following video. If he was shooting at her would she have turned and put her back to him? So what if Lara is negotiating with someone, Zip comes along, thinks that person is bad, takes a shot and Lara tells him to back off as she's not finished yet.

It's a stretch I know and it depends on a lot of unknowns but that one half second makes me think it's not quite what everyone thinks it might be.

Pretty logical to me. Makes sense, there is evidence to suggest it. After all, isn't a theory based upon evidence? How can people call 'fake Lara' a theory when there's no evidence to suggest it.
