Error With Installation..help

I get about 3/4 of the way through the installation and an error comes up that says:

Feature: DefaultFeature
Component: Movies
File: W:\data6.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)


Then I press OK and a new message comes up asking if I want to delete all profiles and saved games, and I say no. Then the entire installation thing closes back to the desktop. This is because I used to have the game installed but someone uninstalled it and I don't want to lose my progress. That's happened before and when I reinstall it, the games are still there because I chose to keep them when I uninstalled it.
I've tried this a million times and looked on tons of forums and cant figure out what to do. PLEASE HELP :)

the ''cyclick redundancy check '' happens when the disc is scuffed . Try to get the game from someone else . If not , then maybe the problem is the install-uninstall thing . You mean you deleted the game and then when you install it again it tells you to uninstall it first and ..the uninstall exe. is not there because you deleted it ?? If it's like that , then it can be resolved formating the partition with the Windows in it and reinstalling the Windows ( Some files are temporary transferred to the Windows partition when reinstalling the game. Some of them cannot be found even within the hidden files ..so if they're still there, computer knows the game is still Installed . You got that ? ) The ones who explain the best is the ones who know from their own experience.:rolleyes:
