for a while everyone has been discussing how they didn't like the new look of lara via old screenshots and concept art... but i have to say i love the new lara from the gameplay trailer! i was very pleased. :cool: any thoughts?

also i know this is out of the blue and shouldn't be in the tomb raider forums :whistle: but if anyone is familiar with resident evil, doesn't lara look a whole lot like claire from the re games...:scratch:

The gameplay trailer looked fantastic and Lara has never looked better :D

Although I disagree that she looks like Claire Redfield. Lara has a more muscular build.
The only simularity is the hair colour and pony tail. :)

And they're both very good at what they do.
But Lara is at the head of a whole franchise, and makes a great game on her own.
Claire is just one character on a long list of great characters from Resident Evil that altogether make a great game.

RE 5 just looks like RE 4 with beefed up graphics, thats about it. nothing new and same ol same ol

Yeah im like ten folds more excited about Underworld than Gears 2, Fable 2, Resistance 2, RE 5 and such. Pumped up, only one out of the titles i mentioned that ive actually went right out and pre-ordered.

TRU will be awesome :D

I'll be getting all the games mentioned above but they aren't my main priority. Underworld is.

Lara in the game play looks amazing like people have said. There's really no other game that is bringing it all to the table like Underworld

You have a drama emotion driven storyline which it seems like its going to have a bunch of twists and turns in it. Not knowing what to expect at points in the game and it ISNT predictable on whats going to happen,which I love.

Haven't had a good story telling game in awhile that actually keeps you involved and then along comes TRU and it's bringing it all to the table.

No other game thats coming out the rest of the year does that or has that. While they will be awesome games in their own right,TRU just has alot more elements to it

I can see the resemblence as they might have tried to make her look like the legend lara, even though it isn't Karima, but the new lara is good but i don't want to be dissapointed with this game, hope its very long, i had a dream that it was very short and i was very dissapointed, i kept looking in the booklet for underworld and looked at the moves, one was from the game play trailer where she shoots that spider and it explodes, there was a screenshot for the adreneline dodge in it... it was quite dissapointing, it took me about 1 hour to finish the game, one level was 5 minutes long. :( i hope it isn't as short as legend i hear aod is very long, i don't want it to be that long, but maybe like anniversary length.

... sometimes the development process just needs time to reach high quality ...

... "we" like to believe that we've influenced these events but in reality this stuff was happening long before there were any forum discussions ...

... but, in a sense, there was a different audience that helped to shape Lara's appearance.

that's not to say that forums don't influence development ... its just not as simple as you make it out to be ...

and your conclusion is correct: we didn't like it, but Lara's beautiful, at this stage. bodes well for the release ... :thumbsup:

Have you noticed how at first everyone was complaining about Underworld, and now everyone seems satisfyed.

I still wish they had the classic outfit - but I feel like part of a minority when saying that.

no id like the classic outfit too, but only as an unlockable outfit to use later.
