allright, weird thought i know but i just realised that there are a lot of themes similar in underworld and buffy, buffy has to defeat the the god glory and they found that the only way to kill a god is to use the weapon of a god. they use a giant hammer with mystical powers from another dimension and it destroys everything it touches. while buffy and glory are fighting she gets her with the hammer and she changes into her mortal self, a mortal, who is then swiftly killed. think of amanda being the mortal half and natla being the god, they each have their bodys, but they switch. maybe natla was in that funky stone in praiso (or however you spell it)or is possessed and is unleashed. in buffy, the only way that glory can return to her own dimension (where she ruled with 2 other gods) is to break down the walls of reality and the world will collapse. like the theory of undieworld. one of buffys friends turns on her and sacrifices something she loves and boy is she pissed. very strangely connected, might you think.

Going down?... Huh, I've not really considered the tranq gun yet. Though that might change in game. Not if the pistols have unlimited ammo.

(And I'm not exactly sure what that/those things are in the top right corner of the second image :scratch: looks like a statue..)

how come they put same old ****? Every storyline was different, and unique.AOD was praised as having the best storyline in the series. And I never had any bugs in TRAOD, and I don't see what people keep *****ing about.

If you think that they DO put the same old ****load of **** in the games, TR is not for you.

and no, CD almost killed the series for fans from the very beginning, with their graphics-and-white-ledges-only-matters "games", not Core.

AOD was sequel to Last Revelation, just so you know.

And if TR was for everyone, everyone in my job, school, house, neighborhood would be playing TR. But sadly, it isn't. Some people can't be arsed to run trough tombs as a british woman with a braid, or more so, and whiny little girl with a ponytail and potato sack clothes, whining for her mother. And daddy.

And actually, CD can't come up with a new storyline. TRL was related to Anniversary, Anniversary was related to TRL, and let's move on.

But no, they had to make a third game with the same storyline, making it a Days-of.our.lives-wannabe.

oh and, let's not turn this into a VD vs Core thread.

Oh, and just to answer the topic, Thailand looks lovely :)

Its not that uncommon in games, in Ninja Gaiden a giant sword can suddenly appear on your back when switching trough the weapons. Still, its a nice improvement indeed.

... where 10 feet long (without the tail I suppose). So 10 feet, being 3 meters, is I think a good estimation for the TRU tigers length. They're just more bulkier, giving them a more massive look.

My goodness! The uzis are back! And this shot made me discover another discrepancy and a clue in the trailer that could partially solve this mesmerizing mystery the new trailer popped up. But those tigers are HUGE and CD didn't kid around with the in-game graphics either. Lara genuinely shows focus and anger when armed. This is the most advanced game ever! (and I mean EVER!) :) :D :o ;) :rolleyes: :p :thumbsup:

Those tigers seem pretty spot on to me. I mean, tigers can get pretty large, as has already been stated verbally and pictorially, I suppose.

It's obvious that the one in the foreground is just much closer to our view than Lara is. Compare her to the one she's aiming at and that looks about right.

And those strange "objects" above and to the right of the picture? Hmm. . .they do seem strange because they look a very different texture and color than anything else in the shot. Very eye-catching. They must be something if they pop out of the environment like that. Although. . .some may not be too happy if that is true since there are those of us who are hoping for less obvious "malleable environments" like bright white ledges and colored movable blocks.

Core Design made Tomb Raider the game it is today. If it wasn't for them, Crystal Dynamics wouldn't be basking in their borrowed glory. It was Eidos that nearly destroyed the franchise by forcing Core to rush AoD and releasing it when it was nowhere near finished.

I think it's important to note that Tomb Raider nearly died due to both Core and Eidos. Eidos due to rushing AOD and Core for making some absurd design choices in the game. Pointing the finger at someone doesn't really highlight the main problems that were brewing not only in management but also the design team.

At the end of the day that chapter in TR history is past us now, with Tomb Raider: Underworld I see a very bright future for the franchise and for us TR fans.

Anyways back to topic. I really love the art direction the game is going with and the water effects look like they are going to be on a par with the ones in Uncharted which is a big plus in my books. Great times are ahead. :)

Core basically made Tomb Raider the known phenom it is today and CD is taking the ball that Core left on the playground and is running with it and keeping it going. So in the end ''who almost killed TR'' is irrelivant. The series is still going and from the looks of it from TRU, its going strong, so thats all we should be concerned about ;)

So far now ill have to settle with using Lara to jump kick some Tigers.

Wonder what kind of damage her kick will do to the tigers though,prob not alot but hope it will at least stun them for a second or so

I watched an interview recently where it was said that the tranq gun is for if you don't want to truly harm any of the furry little animals. No furry animals in the sea, really (excluding our mammalian friends). . .so, it must be available on land as well.

Maybe we'll have to work for it. . .or she's stowed it away. I know they've done away with her ability to have a Mary Poppins-type bag that will fit anything and everything at once. She can only carry what she can actually carry.

As for the tigers, it says that they will react to Lara's movements and they're pretty quick. That should be challenging. . .but fun. ;) Wouldn't want massive Thaigers to be too easy.
