My TRU Croft Manor Fire Concept

There have been romours that Croft Manor may suffer a blaze in Tomb Raider Underworld. This could be quite a dramatic event if true, so I created a visual concept depicting a devastating attack on Croft Manor.:D

Fantastic work. I want them to burn the manor.

It's gotten a lot of hype and it seems like the most absurd and exciting thing to do. We've fought bosses with power and there was a lot of baddies in Home Sweet Home in TR2, but nothing like this. To set the manor on fire would be the ultimate destructive thing to do. It's always been a relatively safe place and there's so much of Lara's personal life attached to it: the painting of her parents, her father's archives, and etc.

She'd get sad and irrevocably angry. I'd love to see it all come out and see that human condition where the materialism and sentimentality is completely ripped from the character. You get a bit of that in Tomb Raiders 1-6 when she gets her guns taken at times and she doesn't have any means to defend herself. You feel vulnerable as a player without those hand to hand combat moves.

And that's when she realises there is nothing to live for anymore and the world may as well be destroyed, so she opens the gates to the Underworld and laughs sardonicly as she watches all the hellspawn destroying the world. Yeah, I can picture it before me!

You're right Anarae, this would be really sad. I almost cried on the last one. I also heard on RaiderCast that her depression might be so deep that she temporarily becomes an alcoholic. I don't think that rumor's true. But she would definitely be in a deep depression due to her personal connection. She even says in Legend that out of all of the 3 estates Lord Croft bestowed to her, this one in particular is her favorite. That scene, I'm sure, is going to be a tearjerker for a lot of fans.

The Tomb Raider Underworld teaser trailer has been released revealing Croft Manor does go up in flames but in an unexpected way!:D

Before the trailer was released just by coincidence a few days ago I posted my own concept of a similar scene. so I've updated my concept to tie in with the trailer, re-creating Lara's new outfit depicted in the new teaser.:jmp:

I have some different colour variations of that image which I'll post. The colouring really changes the atmosphere but the original ones I posted matched the atmosphere in the trailer the most.

Half the work was already done as I created the manor & the blaze a few days before the trailer was released, I would never of guesed that the trailer would feature the manor blaze!:eek:

I also created the new trailer outfit in full body & as we haven't got an official render of that outfit yet I might post that as well.:)
