Well according to CVG and another magazine (cant remember the name):

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=191435

In addition, the interactive cutscenes introduced in Legend where you pressed random buttons as they appeared on screen have been ditched in favour of new Adrenaline Moments. Here the action slows to a crawl and the camera angle subtly changes to suggest a certain acrobatic move or action is available. Get it right and Lara moves on to the next obstacle or survives. **** it up and she dies a particularly horrible death, at least in the more punishing later levels.

So basically they've been replaced with an cutscene, slow motion mix. Sounds good enough but only if this new 'Adrenaline Moment' isn't overused and isnt dead easy (like Interactive cutscenes were). Good on CD for finally listening to the majority of fans complaining about rubbish IC's and forced/ overly difficult AD. :)

Your thoughts?

I liked interactive cutscenes. And I liked the adrenaline dodge. I hope these new adrenaline moments are at least as fun.

The interactive cutscenes were okay... but this new system sounds way cooler. They're giving us more freedom. I like.

I Like AD n IC
and BTW for PS2 users , the Adrenaline Dodge will be very easy if u choose the ADVANCED TOGGLE Mode from the controls settings.

It sounds so much cooler than the interactive cutscenes :D

It sounds really cool but knowing CD and their tendency to hint at practically everything you can tell these "adrenaline moments" will be way too easy and obvious as to what you are supposed to do. I think say you're sposed to do a roll she'll probs lean forward telling you that thats what she needs to do. So it sounds like an excellent idea but you can tell CD are gonna ruin it some how...:mad2:

Well CD said that there isn't going be obvious things to do. Like with the obvious ledges sticking out they are mostly gone with some being in there they said they wanted it to be more challenging for hardcore gamers and still okay for beginners

Yeah but with the kracken screenshot I zoomed in to try and figure out a possible way of beating it (:D) and there were ledges sticking out all over the place. CD may say that they're gonna make a difference but their perception of difficult and our perception of difficult really does differ cos those ledges really WERE obvious. CD just cant tell the differencve between a challenge and a walkthrough.
And now I have to edit cos Ive literally just read something about the underwater level.

SPOILER BELOW (lol I dunno how to make actual spoilers in edit):
Apparently you need some axels to open a door and to find one of them some jellyfish lead you there so dont say CD are making the games more challengin cos they are blatently not. Phew glad I got that off my chest...

Well , I think I kind of enjoyed the IC but I think that this new type of solution sounds very cool BUT as many others said , I hope CD doesn't ruin it .

I don't like the interactive cutscenes and I feel these "adrenaline movements" are the exact same thing, except you're still in game instead of a cutscene. I didn't like the adrenaline dodge either.

On the flip side, I loved the arial attack in Legend, where she runs up to an enemy and flips from their head/shoulders. It slows down time and she can pick off one or two enemies at a time. I wish it'd shown up in TRA.

But I can deal with the Adrenal Movements. Since they gave us the hand to hand combat back, she can now shoot climbing, and finally sprint again and etc. then I'll accept the adrenaline movements as a fair compromise.

(I chucked the spoiler tags in, for quoting purpose).
C'mon!
You discriminate the difficulty of the ENTIRE game by the difficulty of the FIRST PUZZLE (?) in the FIRST LEVEL of the game??? Wow. You must be into some intense games.... (I don't think even the 'classic' tomb raiders started off as hard as their ending...)

Yes, CD has put many helping hints in, and will put many in for TRU. So long as they're optional, so what??? New players may need a little nudge in the right direction. (Diary in TRA maybe did this. Stating the obvious, so as to be encouraging....). And taking hint isn't as bad as looking at walkthrough....

Adreniline Dodge (AD) was okay. I didn't like it's 'overuse', as in the need for it when fighting boss fights, but once you got used to it, it was good.

Adreniline moments, I think/speculate, are tied directly to the game, (which means it's not special like an interactive cutscene (IC or QTE), so that's nice). I think that means she won't hint what to do anymore than gameplay... it's just it slows down because of a triggered event. (E.G., giant kracken arm comes crashing down...)

I would like to see these cutscenes in first person, from lara's perspective ofcourse.
So you can basicly choose 4 directions, and lara is sprinting towards a door which is closing.
And ofcourse you have to press the down button on your d-pad or keyboard.

I dont know why, but i think some cutscenes ( not all of them) would be so much better if they were infirst person view. Cam going up and down, u press the down button, she does a roll. u keep running, a big gap is in front of her, u press the up button and she jumps!

But if you fail, you see a hand grab the legde, but she can't hold it any longer. and she falls... all in first person view.
That would be so awesome.

This sounds like exactly what I was asking for---something similar to the superstyle attacks from Heavenly Sword. Optional, but the reward for doing it is a very cool animation.

I think it's really good that you can take pics of the places she's been too. I'm taking one of the kraken when it dies!

My point was that CD have always made stuff really easy like the obvious ledges and hints, so I mean if they have it in the first level they're obv. gonna have it in the rest of the game. I'm not judging the entire game I'm just saying that if they say they're gonna stop hinting at stuff they should probs do that. Some people like getting help but I get really annoyed when I notice something that's obviously a hint that's most of the time unnecessary (sp?). When they go on bout stopping dropping hints they should do that rather than just keep them in the game. I dont mind them if they're optional but when they're obvious things you cant change it makes you feel a bit like CD really underestimate their players.
