I think in BSM, there are the planes too weak in multiplayer. TBF's should make more damage. Well, they should be easlier to stop, but a torpedo was a heavy weapon and should make more damage. Also SBD are very weak against BB's and CV's:confused: . And also a fighter should make more damage. I've seen a lot of videos and I'm sure a zero would be faster killed and also dive bombers and TBF.

What do you think?

The problem is balance. By all rights the planes should obliterate enemy ships with a few hits, that's how the age of the battleship ended. But to make the game fun, so that warships have a chance to engage the efefcts were probably intentionally toned down. Take Coral sea, in reality no warship fired on another, but in BSM that's often how the game is won. Tha same thing. Someone else on here also pointed out the rediculously small range of ships. Taking the real range of the naval guns included in the game the Fletcher class destroyer could shoot at and hit a target on the other side of a BSM sized map! Naval combat happens on a massive scale, I think Edios have done a good job of compressing it into a game. However I do think we need to be able to launch more planes. As someone else on this forum put it, "the sky should be black with planes!"

Everything is underpowered in BSM. Ships lose their gun range, which for a BB can be up to 45,000m but is here down to 3,000m and most ships are much slower than real life. Submarines lose their power, since they do very little damage with a single salvo of torpedoes, and they are far too easily detected. Carriers can only put up 12 planes at a time and while in real life a carrier can outrun most oponents, here anything, including a submerged sub can run them down. As for Zero's being too damage resistant, the Zero vs Wildcat balance has been totaly messed up since here Wildcats out turn Zeros, and both have the same amount of armour. In BSP, the Zero needs to gain its real agility, while the Wildcat should have an armour boost and lose some of its agility. Don't think the others are too far off, though really the Val and Kate are both more agile than the Dauntless but more fragile.

Absolutely agree.
But a CV (or better planes) against a BB is still in BSM not really fair. Ok the map is smaller than reallity, but it's nearly impossible to kill BB's with Bombers.:mad2:
The single usable plane is the TBF and that's even in BSM not fair.

But I'm looking forwards to playing BSP; there are Rockets for the Corsairs and surely a lot of fun for attacking ships.:lmao:

I agree the only usable plane is the fighter and the torpedo bomber, but I'm not sure if increasing the damage done is the way to go about fixing things, especially for the torpedo bomber. Fighters' attacks are fine, as they shred planes pretty easily anyway. I'm really trying not to think about the B-17 and how overpowered it would be if it caused the amount of damage it really is capable of. >.>
