From sonarman posting over at SimHQ. Big thanks..

Eurogamer.de has an interesting 3 page article on the new features and changes in the Forthcoming sequel to "Battlestations Midway", "Battlestations Pacific". The article is in German but can be translated using Babelfish or google.

Read the translated article (http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurogamer.de%2Farticle.php%3Farticle_id%3D132996&sl=de&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8)

If the link above doesn't work
just drop this URL http://www.eurogamer.de/article.php?article_id=132996 into the Babelfish Translator (http://uk.babelfish.yahoo.com/?fr=avbbf-uk) and select German to English

Here also is an earlier interview in English (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=184232) from the Uk's C&VG magazine

Eurogamer: Why does not your PS3 version of Pacific?

Attila Soross: Battle Stations: Pacific appears only for Xbox 360 and PC. We are certainly in the PlayStation 3 as a major current gen platform interested, but there are currently no plans for an implementation of Battlestations: Pacific.

First of all I am dissapointed. I would have loved to see a PS3 version and would have been my primary choice so I guess it will be PC for me now.

Eurogamer: Released before you release a full version of a demo, and then download content?

Attila Soross : Yes, we are planning both a pre-release demo as well as download content for the game.

YEA!!!!

That was tough to read! lol

I'm worried about a few things though...

1. It says that there will be guided weapon tech

2. It says that the controls/interface has been completly redone. I hope that the old system isn't gone, it's fine to add systems (ie: options), but keep the old one for the veterans.

It also says that there are several new gametypes, I hope classic is still there.

Now I will have to wait for news on the maps.

Guided weapons? I hope he means the Ohka kamikaze plane because I don't want to see missiles in dogfighting. The Germans did have radio guided bombs and torpedoes that homed in on the sound of a ships prop but I don't think the Japanese or Americans had either of these. I won't mourn the loss of the old interface because there was room for improvement there but I hope they don't stray to far from the one in BSM.

by guided they could also meen the kamkazie subs the japs used to (they were effective to got into a harbor that was well fortified and sank a tanker)

I'm really excited about the demo and eventual DLC, and other stuff sounds really cool as well.

But as stated, there are a few areas of concern. Please, no guided missiles!

And I sure hope they're not "dumbing-down" the game and interface in order to make it "more accessible" to the masses. That would be the worst thing they could do, imo.

Oh come on. You guys know you want AGM-84 Harpoon missiles and B-17s dropping AS-6 Kingfish supersonic long range anti ship missiles.

That would be simply awesome.

I would want the Microwave cannon that the Japanese were working on and for the US I want the living bat bombs. :nut:

I have to agree though on the control redesign but I will withhold my judgement until I get my hands on it.

The B-17s now LITERALLY carpet bomb enemy emplacements.

B-17 Crew: Rugs away!

Let keep this game in its time period. I wouldn't mind an Alabama class sub though. :o

Ugly ship is ugly. :rasp:
Ugh, I can't stand modern warships! They have no character. The only modern warship that I like is any ship of the Nimitz class.
