I wanted to post for all to read what I sent to Butler Winston Smith, the 'community specialist' of this forum. I want Eidos to take input from DeusEx 1 fans and seriously give it consideration to help them make another great game LIKE THE FIRST DEUS EX. If they don't, the game will fail like Deus Ex 2. And not only that; the chance to redeem the name Eidos and the Deus Ex franchise will be wasted. Us fans need to be adamant about reinforcing the fact that we are ultimately the ones the game will have to 'go through' to get to GREAT and therefore, a money-maker.
"Is the Deus Ex 3 team going to take some ideas from the forum and incorporate them into the game? Before DXIW came out, I don't think anyone could have ever thought it would be as unlike DX1 as it is. I would have been one to buy DX2 but I always read the fan's criticisms of a new game and the scales were overwhelmingly tipped to DISASTEROUS. These critics were dedicated fans of the first Deus Ex as I was and still am. They knew what they were talking about. I never bought DX2 and won't. Deus Ex 1 was the first pc game I ever bought...talk about getting lucky! I have played Deus Ex since 2000 - played single player thru at least 10 times and multiplayer as well. I love the worlds of Deus Ex 1. Their realism and the way the game unfolded much according to my choices made me forget I was playing a game and that has been pointed out as the mark of a TRULY great game in this genre. I hope you guys will listen to the original Deus Ex fans and post questions and polls on the forums too...take the feedback and mix it with the creative and technical talent of the development team and mold it all into a game that will be a legend like its founding father."
