"Exchange" level - swapping characters

Hey guys, great game, one problem up to now...in the exchange level in japan, after answering the phone i am told to switch characters so i can take out the snipers, how do i do this?! cant get any further without doing it!

shift-tab you can order your crew around, then use numbers 1,2,3 for commands
