Controller question for PC version

I was wondering if I could use a controller for this game, I have a logitech rumble pad 2? thank you.

Im thinkling of returning the game I bought for PC, as I bought it to play co-op splitscreen. Why the heck can i only use an Xbox 360 controller!!!!!
