I've never watched a Rugby match in my life... but that was tense!

I was watching with a friend who plays rugby, and she kept screaming at the TV!

I am impressed though, at the quality of men on the English side. 10, 21, and a couple others were very hot, but I'm also impressed at their ability to just get on with it, and not play on an injury (e.g. football).

France would've won that, if we hadn't of been awarded so many penalties. Either way, good going on both sides!

I must be in the minority. I am so glad the whole thing is over. It was an utter waste of time and it infuriated me that the TV channels tried to ram it down my throat in a feeble attempt to make the sport look as popular as football (which I don't like either).

Good riddance Rugby World Cup :rasp:. Here's hoping that you go 'pay per view' next time round (like all televised sport should be).

@crazyhorse128
Holy Oaks? :lol::eek::lol::lmao:

I'd rather watch the news than football or rugby. How boring is that?
But even that's a double-edged sword around sporting events. The hype's as overwhelming as cheap perfume. I use channels like News24 to try and escape it, but what do I get? Just a short while ago (around 2:30pm) I glance at my TV to see the headline "Rugby World Cup: Thousands of fans returning home". And just in case my tiny brain couldn't somehow contemplate such a news-worthy event, there was even accompanying footage of the aforementioned fans. Yeah, thanks for that News24 :thumbsup:.

I cannot believe they're still going on about it. Talk about flogging a dead horse.

I'm afraid I have to confess that as a non-sports fan it really gets too much at times.

All sports should be put on pay-per-view, I can't help but agree with Spong in this debate.

Sport usurps otherwise useful airing time and it seems to take precedence over everything else, including important news bulletins that get demoted to secondary position just because England won a game and incase anyone missed it, they repeat it again as headlines in their closure refresher.

The BBC are the biggest culprits. On Saturdays it's nothing but sport. ITV are not much better either. As for the BBC they indulge themselves to the point of it being a crime that deserves the 'flog it to death penalty'. We have Football Focus and Grandstand then all the highlights, half-time scores and then Match of the Day.

If it's Wimbledon then BBC2 are covering the bliddy lot, just as they do with the golf, cricket, snooker, Olympics et al.

BBC1 cover everything from the London Marathon to the Great Northern Run. Lest anyone be in any doubt, I pay my license fee just like the next person but all I get on the Beeb is sport, largely.

It's a monopoly tantamount to brainwashing in my less than humble opinion :D

Yeah.. snooker is not bad. It's also aired at other channels (like Eurosport) but I like BBC commentary - John Virgo, Dennis Taylor, etc. :lol:
