I've been playing TR1 on my PS2 and it's all been fine. Then I tried to carry on playing TR1 on someone else's PS2 and there is a graphical error straight from the game starting. There is a big wide row all the way across the top of the screen that I suspect keeps coming up whenever the disc is being accessed, which is often. The thing is that the PS2 is almost new, and all other games play perfectly on it, including other PS1 games. I've tried changing the various options in the system configeration, but with no success. Has anyone else had this problem?

well that is odd...I never heard of something like this..
I have a ps2 and I always use the texture smooth and it plays just fine...
did it happen on slim or fat console?

Sorry yeah I should have mentioned, they are both fairly new, slimline PS2 consoles. It's not a complete disaster as I mainly play the game on the PS2 that it works with, just more of a curious inconvenience.

but still, itīs strange:confused:
slim is not as good as the old fat one:D doesnīt your ps2 suffer from overheating?

It doesn't no, but then I try not to play for several hours at a time. I agree though, the old fat PS2 is way better than the slimline...it would play unfinalised and finalised DVD-RW discs, had a fan, never had a problem with blue discs, etc. :P

I have one luckily:D ...itīs about 6 years old now:D but I get the common disc read error - a cleaning disc is good for this problem:)

I have a fat PS2, wouldn't swap it for a slim. I've read about numerous problems the slim PS2 has with games (both PSOne and PS2). I guess TR1 can be added to the list.

Well it works on my PS2, it may just be bad luck that it doesn't on the other one. Thanks for the posts anyway, I'm playing through the entire series on PS2, great games :)
