I don't really get why Qualopec moved right after Lara picked up the scion (in the original game I don't think that happened) and also why Tihocan's body was missing. Is there some sort of connection? My only guess is that they never really died. Natla was immortal (unless the rock killed her) so I assume so were they. I can only guess that there'd be a sequel since some of the changes in the storyline made room for one. In the original game there was no mention of Natla being immortal and you actually shoot her till she's dead in the final battle. Since the storyline has been changed to her being immortal I don't think that the rock at the end would have killed her.

Another change was when Natla said there were more than one pyramids. That means Natla still wouldn't give up bringing the seventh age if she was still alive.

So if there is a sequel I doubt we have seen the last of Natla or the other 2 rulers...

Your thoughts?

Those are great questions, even I don't know why Qualopec moved, etc. I'm just curious what happened to the three pieces of the Scion, after the Torso came out of it's sack :$?

Yes interseting thoughts I'm now replaying TR1 to remind myself of the original story. Qualopec didn't move in the orginal but she did keep pointing her guns at the mummy's next to him, as she did in TRA. I am a bit disappointed that they basically cut the levels in half for TRA I didn't realise how much had been cut since replaying the original, maybe they could have elaborated a bit more on the new story if they hadn't cut so much out. :(

You've brought up some good points. It could be that they left themselves an avenue to follow in case they continue the story. It seems logical don't you think?

I definitely think the changes were made in the story to allow a possible sequel (if TRA did well of course). Who knows, they could have an Anniversary series running parallel to a Legend series. The Anniversary series could be remakes of the old-skool Raiders but with a revamped Atlantis plot running throughout, and all culminating at the Great Pyramid in Last Revelation (there's a possible link right there to Natla's "other pyramids" reference).

But on the oddities of Qualopec & Tihocan's bodies, I have no idea. I think I remember the Atlantean creature falling out of the sarcophagus in the original though (if you got too close).

In TR1 or TRA, Lara never retrieves the 3 piece Scion at the end. The last she sees it is when she shoots at it and Natla jumps at Lara and falls to the Lava below.

Even in the bonus unfinished business levels, where the last two are a continuation after TR1, Lara still doesn't retrieve the Scion.

I think that Qualopec moved to protect the Scion from Lara.

I don't know...It is very intriguing isn't it. If Natla is immortal, it makes sense that Qualopec and Tihocan are too. Maybe CD and Eidos have plans to merge this storyline with Legend? I can't see them making remakes of the other games, but it would be great if they tied it up. I hate cliffhangers that are left hanging!

I think that could happen, or maybe it's a set up for another story arc after the Legend one is concluded. It feels like a waste to just have these events occur in TRA for no good reason.

Wow, that's really interesting....of course, i've never played the first one but still....hmm, i would think that the most logical thing is that they're merging the storyline with Legend, but with all that seems to have changed...who knows what CD is doing? haha. Whatever it is, i just hope it's good!

I've just finished replaying TR1 and it appears that Natla was imortal as Qualopec & Tihocan sent her to "eternal unrest". Though she never said she was immortal I presume that she must have been. Also in TR1 Lara destroyed the Scion, which I don't think she did in TRA so theres definately room for a TRA sequel or legend conection!

In Tomb Raider 1 Lara destroyed the scion, but we saw the broken pieces in the Tomb Raider 3 trophy room, in one of the cabinets. So even in the old games Lara had to have gone back to retrieved it.
