Directx 9 drivers

I am confused as to whether I need to upgrade directx 9 drivers when I have directx 10? Will some knowledgeable person please explain whether I should go to the directx upgrade and do this and if that would effect my directx 10 version or what?

Since you're using Vista, the two frameworks you've got on the O/S are DX10 and DX9.L, Vista's 9.0c equivalent. You don't need to update anything for now.
