Hi guys. I have three big problems :

TR1

My TR1 game is installed on an old PC, but it works well anyway. Two or three years ago, everything was working well. Then, the Citern Background music started to play at the title screen instead of TR1 theme, and the TR1 theme was playing in the first three level. So I worked with it anyway. But well, last year, everything changed : No more sound anywhere. Not even in the cinematics before the title screens (Eidos logo, or the scene where we see the explosion, in EVERY cinematics, there's no sound). So, no sound ingame, no sound in cinematics. Just the background music and, I can't explain why, there's sound in "In-Game cinematics" (Like the conversation between Lara and Larson after the Qualopec level).

So, I went in the Setup and I saw that in "Automatic Detection" (talking about the sound), it was choosing «No Sound». But whatever I select, whatever I try, it ALWAYS come back on «No Sound».

So, is anyone able to help me? I want to get the sound back...

I have an Audiotrix Pro Sound Card
(I know it's old...But well, think that I was using this computer in the year of 1991-1998 and well, I don't think it's the problem because I never changed it and TR1 was working fine before...).

TR2-TR3

My second and third problem is the same. It concerns the Textures in TR2 and TR3. I remember that the textures were better before (more soft if you see what I mean), but for a reason I can't explain, my games (after the installations) get pixelisated textures (like the Playstation versions...). I know that the textures can be better, but I don't know how... I tried everything in the setup but It stays pixelisated.

I have Window XP but I don't think it's the problem, because I installed the games a lot of times in the past and the textures were fine...

If someone can help me for one of my three probems, let me know ^^'.

Thanks :)

There is a standard Sound Setup that seems to work with most soundcards for TR1. I think it is:

Card: Soundblaster Pro
Port: 220
DMA: 1
IRQ: 5

Selecting those options has always given me sound. It doesn't matter if you don't have a Soundblaster Pro card, this setup seems to work for most cards.

Yes these selections also work for me and I am glad you reminded me of them Faye because I often forget the exact combination and have to go looking them up online. I'll memo these and put the memo in the TR1 box this time for future reference.:)

Sorry if I took long for posting... Busy summer <.<

Anyway. I tried. But, as weird as it is, I still have no sound in game...

And well, I think it's because my CD is getting old or it is scratched, must be it... Because I tried it on my new computer (the one i'm always using) and still no sound. I tried another version of TR1 and it worked fine...

Try changing the display resolution in game. Alt+"+" on the keypad will increase it in game. Likewise, Alt+"-" (keypad) will decrease it. :)
