Where are the Widescreen resolutions?

How come Just Cause is not playable at any widescreen resolutions. Is 1280x1024 the maximum res? Why there is not any 1680x1050 or similar res? Is it going to be added in a patch?

U can get widescreen and I have used resolutions upto 2560 1600 (1920 1200 prefered for performance)

The 2D overlay (map, text) will be stretched but the game itself will be widescreen. I believe it supports 16:10 and 16:9 depending on the res you use.
