It's no secret that DX is based in a cyberpunk setting, where the better technology wins.
It also seems nice that many of the cheats in the game are the sorts of things the developers would use to test out the different parts of the game, by summoning items and such.
Usually, people see cheat code usage as a sign of weakness, or inability to play effectively. However, I think the original DX was different.
First, the coding-style format for the codes is absolutely in line with the cyberpunk setting.
Second, your character does have the choice to merge with a universal constructor, among other things, so maybe he already can do something similar, but only within small areas.
Finally, it's just as fun to try and completely beat the game on cheats as it is to completely beat it on skill, as long as only certain cheats are used. It simply adds that much more depth and replay value to the gameplay, and also allows you to feel even more like a technological marvel, manipulating reality with your own coding skills.
I guess this is almost more of an essay, but my real interest is what you all think of this conclusion. I'm very interested in hearing some opinions...
