View Full Version : Ideas For Future Locations
Hi gang!
Last year I was in discussion with a pal regarding the possibilities for future locations for Lara Croft to visit.
As an on/off writer I am easily inspired and quite inquisitive. I am also quite creative when it comes to cooking up ideas!
I had this idea that a whole game could revolve around Lara exploring the NASA areas and going up into space by sneaking aboard a shuttle and going into deep space to uncover some sort of conspiracy! :D
Sounds like fun eh? ;) Have you any ideas as to what would constitute as a good location or storyline for future games?
Lo :)

India.
It would be soo cool if she went there and saw all the temples, or the rivers and the people and the statues and the people. India must have some tombs to raid and mysteries to solve.

Yeah they are my favorite locations in Tomb Raider, but she's done it all before. I'm kidna getting sick of tropical waterfalls and plants and animals.
I have to confess that I sometimes get a little fed up when playing the jungle areas in TRIII :o
I infinitely prefer more metro areas...London, Paris and so on.
Ridiculous really as the game is called 'Tomb Raider' and even though there are no tombs in the city areas they are fun to explore ;)

Hmm...not again :(
I liked it, it was a great level, but scenery like that (as beautfiul as it is) gets boring after being fetured in almost every TR game in the last 11 years.
I'd love it if Lara visited Bolivia again! :D
Oh indeed, Bolivia was certainly a cool area and very different to the usual hum drum in certain earlier levels/locations.
I'd like to see the Grand Canyon incorporated at some stage too. I can just imagine Lara scaling those rocks! Maybe a bungee jump is in order - anything to replace that dreadful rope-swinging business! :p

A shopping mall in New Jersey.
Just kidding.
Actually, it would be cool to see her in a place like Skara Brae. They've never done that in a TR game, and it's not even SO far from where she lives.

she lives near me
oo oo oo i would LOVE it if she went to iraq... ya know babylonian ruins, or sumarian temples, i sware she could go to the nine gates to the underworld there... (lets not forget the garden of eden is assumed to be there).. orrrr she could go to alhambra in spain... when i went there it was amazing, it's the kind of place that would hold an ancient artifact

NOOO NO MORE EGPYT I'M BEGGING YOU!!
I had enough egypt in TR4. I flinch at the sight of sand now. And I live near 3 near beaches.
Has she ever been to the Australian outback? Ayres rock and some aboriginal artefacts would be good. There must be some right? Swimming in the barrier reef?
Or perhaps a kayak ride down the Scandinavian fjords? The scenery would be breathtaking.
I'm not sure I like the outer space idea. What would she fight? Aliens? Too sci-fi for my liking.

I don't know all of the places that she's been, and I'm sorry if I name a few.
I would like:
somewhere in the Caribbean
Brazil
Belize
Switzerland
And someplace in Africa other than Ghana, and Eygpt.
Like Morocco, Tunisia.
And maybe China?

The Easter Island could be interesting, and the Andes in Chile too, but what sort of business would she have found there? :D Now I think about it... I think the Peruvian levels of Tomb Raider 1 are meant to be somewhere on that mountain system.
Definitely yes to Babylon, but I'm afraid they wouldn't tuck her in there because the Prince of Persia games featured that as main place and then Tomb Raider would be classed as a definite copycat.
What about Dracula's sanctum, wherever it is? :lmao: (Tanzania? )
Are you thinking of Transylvania per chance? Lara exploring Dracula's castle? Hmmm interesting.

Lets go Far East, and maybe something really ancient like Babylonia/Mesopotamia. It would be so cool to visit the First King of China's tomb since there is such a myth about it, yet, a hint of it actually being real.

As for outer space, I just thought it would be rather novel if it had a feasible plot. I guess aliens would be no less acceptable than dinosaurs ;) I don't think a whole game could be played in outer space but a section of it at least - assuming there was some sort of space station up there.
Hmm...I actually like space idea.
Although I am not exactly sure what Lara would do "just" in outer space, so I think maybe she can be a part of the first Martian expedition or something. Who knows -- maybe there are alien tombs there which is, by the way, entirely plausible.

Although I am not exactly sure what Lara would do "just" in outer space, so I think maybe she can be a part of the first Marsian expedition or something. Who knows -- maybe there are alien tombs there which is, by the way, entirely plausible.
Indeed, even though TR has been guilty of running implausible scenarios in the past such as dinosaurs and giant scorpions et al ;)
I reckon she could be sneaking around the NASA headquarters and maybe she could accidentally get sent into space by sneaking aboard a shuttle :D
Either that or she could be a space tourist - she's financially quite well off and could afford such extravagance. I like your idea of the Martian influence!
Think about it - if aliens visited Earth and landed in the Sahara Desert they could be forgiven for assuming that Earth was desolute - an abandoned and arid planet with zero population. We went to the moon and the section that Aldrin landed on could have been just such a remote place. How are we to know that life doesn't exist in other parts?
Lara is just the girl to uncover the truth and the truth is out there! :D
I reckon she could be sneaking around the NASA headquarters and maybe she could accidentally get sent into space by sneaking aboard a shuttle :D
 I imagine this happens all the time at NASA. :p
 I imagine this happens all the time at NASA. :p
Well truth is stranger than fiction and our lara manages to get herself in all manner of impossible areas, so 'accidentally' finding herself on board a shuttle is workable in the whole Raiding franchise :rasp: :D
Let's face it, in the Crash Site level of TRIII she miraculously manages to find two sets of keys for the flight deck and furthermore, manages to activate the weaponry in order to cull the dinosuars - the ones that emerge equally miraculously from caves with no depth
It's also amazing that in the manor training level of the same game, pushing a book in the library manages to quell a whole fire in the bedroom grate :D
In fact, the more I think about the impossibilities of such things occurring in the real world, the more convinced I am that Lara will not only be able to sneak on board a shuttle but when she is up in deep space nine, she'll probably meet Dr. Spock and have a Venus-type wedding in place of Vegas :D

Oh I don't think there is a lack of locations to explore. Afterall, even the countries Lara has visited still have oodles more cities she has not ventured into.

They did have a few levels set in Scotland - Highland Fling and Willards Lair in TR The Lost Artefact :) They had all these Scottish men in traditional dress pursuing Lara. I have a cheeky screenshot somewhere when I tried to get a peek up a dead Jock's kilt

I wouldn't like Lara to go to space ****
And why is this in the AE section b/w?
I put the question here Phlip because it is the thread for the most recent game ;) Just thought it would be more current in here :) Also if Eidos are reading they might just get some inspiration from the fans.
I remember in TR3 getting all excited because we got to explore Area 51. When I realised we were going to get to go in the alien spacecraft I had high hopes of taking a quick tour up in space but it wasn't to be :p
Like I say, perhaps not an entire game set in space - that would get a bit boring I would think. Another idea would to be to send Lara down to explore the wreck of the Titanic in search of a valuable artefact - or perhaps a ship with a similar name but with all the appearance of the Titanic so as not to offend people - it is afterall a burial ground. It would have to be a bit different to the Maria Doria wreck - obvioulsy since it has been rusting away down there for almost 100 years but could be educational for younger gamers :)

Looks like a Moderator posted here twice and didn't move it, so enough of this "why is this in this section" or "this should be there" stuff... I'm sick of people judging threads and playing mods.
And I don't think there's a Future TR section.
Anyways, I think Cambodia would be great place to visit. The temple in the first movie was great, but in the game it should be way bigger (Temple Ruins from TR3) and with much more complex puzzles.

I'm not trying to be a mod, I'm just showing her/him were to put threads in future, is that so bad? No. :)
And I don't think there's a Future TR section.
I asked Goran about that a while ago and he said if you want to discuss things for the future, put it into TR general discussion :)
You know, that Cradle Of Life forest area in the second movie was also quite good and possibly workable for a game level :)
The temple did seem a little small Dragu, I agree (which is why it surprised me when it took L Croft about ten minutes to reach half-way down the tree routes when she fell in  )

Just let the mods do their job, OK? They know what to do. That's how they got promoted in the first place. Pointing out in public that the thread is in the wrong section will only make the thread starter look bad.
Mods don't need help to know which thread goes in which section. Id the thread were in the wrong place, the mod who posted here twice would've moved it.
Thanks for that Dragu - and my apologies if folks think my thread is in the wrong place - I just thought that this was the best place seeing as it doesn't concern TR 1-6 General Discussion :)
Still, we're all here now so hopefully not too much harm has been done and thanks everyone for their ideas! Keep 'em coming! I think any location with historical relevance would be a good idea to incorporate into any future games.

No problem. It's the most visited section at the moment. I for one don't even look at the general TR section, so I understand what you were thinking, and I would've done the same.
I'll probably won't look at the TRA section once it's released, since no news will be released and suggestions would be pointless at that point. So the TR8 section will be my new forum to visit :)

Seriously, this isn't the wrong section for a thread like this. At least, in my humble opinion. Let us not derail the discussion any further. :)
Phew! Thanks Xcom;)
Anyway, sort of back on topic, something I have strived not to evade nor venture too far from, I am indeed looking forward to Anniversary seeing as it claims to revisit some original areas of the initial game, talking of locations :)
I'll probably become increasingly less of a visitor in this section until I actually buy the game (I can well afford it but I am one of those principled women who prefers to wait for the price to come down - probably because I buy a myriad of DVDs for my movie library and have saved hundreds of bucks by waiting for the fuss to die down on the movie score! ;) )
I won't want to read too many spoilers nor see a lot of screenshots until I get to grips with it myself.
There is nothing quite so exciting to load a new TR game and find yourself in differing and exciting locations. And - how much fun would it be to know that any future TR game incorporated an area thanks to inspiration from the Raiders here on Eidos? :D

Never been! Sounds like a winner to me Lady lara Croft!
I'm liking the idea idea of searching a Titanic type Wreck, very eerie and all that possible undiscovered treasures. Oooh what about the ghost ship the Mary Celeste? She could try to find the mystery behind it.
I'm also coming round to an outer space level, at least there are a lot of planets to chose from and the scenery would be interesting. As long as it's not too long. I'm not a fan of all that high-tech stuff.
My geography is rubbish so I can't think of anywhere with tombs.
Here's a way out idea: What if Lara somehow manages to get herself 'lost' in the Bermuda Triangle and it's a race against time to find a way back? But you know Lara's race against times - they last as long as it takes for the player to figure it all out.
Oh no these ideas are rubbish. I can't imagine how they'd be doable. :(

This question is harder than it seems because over the course of seven games (not counting the bonus stuff,) she's been seemingly everywhere.
Much as I love space and SciFi, I have to agree with Lo's dissent - unless that was done very, very carefully you'd have Lara the Tomb Raider character in a non-TR game. If the scenario Xcom mentions were used, like the discovery of an alien civilization on Mars, it might work, though the presence of medpacks, shotgun shells and Uzi clips in various & sundry Martian caverns would be a little tough to explain...
What I think the game developers should latch onto for future locations is actual places. A whole dimension of excitement could be infused into otherwise typical TR locales if the landscape were constructed from actual physical locations. Like the western novelist Louis L'Amour, who said that every stream, butte, canyon, lake, cavern, game trail, etc. in his novels are physical places he'd actually been to in his travels through America's desert Southwest. It wouldn't have to be every part of every scene, just enough to give an instant headrush to any player who had been there and would instantly recognize it. The detail possible with the current gen of graphics makes this even more feasible.
As for ideas, I'm a hardcore Japanophile, so if Lara got back there it would be great - just so she ventures outside urban Tokyo this time. Maybe the Reigan-do cave where Miyamoto Musashi wrote his "Go rin no sho" near the end of his life would be groovy, or some of the famous temples around Kyoto.
An unearthed Druidic temple in the UK would be cool - with maybe a side trip to the Laphroaig distillery on Islay, haha... Or some Loch Ness action?
Brevity! D'OH!
Ok, that'll do it for now...
I think on the medpack issue that she might be given the opportunity to stock up before her journey - not that she doesn't find medpacks in the most obscure places as it is ;)
Loch Ness would be interesting although they touched upon this in The Lost Artefact and the monster was seen in the background swimming past :D
But yes, I liked Japan too and I do prefer real locations in terms of actual countries/cities and also realistic and believable environments such as the offshore rig in TR2, Aldwych in TR3 and Shakespeare's Cliff, the channel tunnel in TLA.
I'd be keen to see more Oriental locations for they could be potentially very colourful and active areas due to the large population and the amount of industry in some of the Eastern countries.

Don't think she's been to Machu Picchu yet has she? I think that would be a good one where she has to climb the mountain first:)

Actaully, I think Legend was the only time she has been to to Japan?
But that was an Urban level.
I'd like to see her go to Japan, with the statues and gardens and mountains and all the beauty you see in films like Memoirs of a Geshia. I have a Japanese friend, and I asked her if places like this still exsited in Japan, or is it all just built up like in Toikyo. And she yes, they still do exsist. It would be wonderful she went somehwhere like this.
Just as long as theres not millions of Japnese soilders or men with swords and crap. It just gets boring after a while. I wanna see her fight bears and wolves and even....Dragons!
That would be amazing. Simply amazing.
~
And on another note, I agree with what someone a few posts up said about actual locations.
At the end of the Kazakstan level, when Lara said she was off to Cornwall, for a minute I was really excited that mabye she would see some of the sites that are actaully down here.
Of course I didn't get my hopes up to high because I knew it was very unlikey. I loved the England level regardless, but now I deffinatly crave some real sites in a Tomb Raider game.
Mabye after Legend 2 (Or Avalon as I heard it might be called) there can be a whole game just dedicated to real places around the world that Lara vists.
That would be good.
~
And on another, completely diffrent note, I hope Lara gets to see some gawjuss mythical creates in Avalon/Legend II. :D :D

-If there could be something to find or explore in Yellowstone National Park. Or Yosemity(spelling?) National Park.
-Somewhere in the Rockie Mountains.
-Somewhere in the Adorandack(spelling?) Mountains.
-New Orleans at some of the old ports where Pirates used.
-Mexico somwhere, Aztecs.
-Also, somehwere in Northern Europe and North West Americas looking for Viking stuff.
-Isreal (Jerusalem) looking for biblical, holy stuff.
-Lochness (spelling?)
-Searching for the New Jersey Devil.
-Searching for Beowulf.
-Rome.
-Search for truth about extra terrestrial life.
Still a lot of possibilities.
You've made a good few points there dragonhunter81
There are a myriad of unsolved mysteries and legends out there for Lara to play around with.
Not just the Loch Ness monster (of which one author at least claims there are far more than one and that they have been seen out of the water by many eye witnesses  )
There are the Bigfoots, the alien bases under the sea, crop circles, Burmuda Triangle (solved now I think but there is supposedly a Welsh Triangle lol), all the stone formations of Wiltshire, time slips et al.
Maybe a new tool could be a dowsing rod :D How about giving her a time machine - making her go through a time slip first far into the future then make her search for components to get a futuristic time machine to transport her back to the current day :D
I mean, keep the game fairly on track but also add some of these mysterious extras. It's happened in most if not all of the games so far. Dinosaurs, mutants, Yetis and such along with totally weird areas of otherwise 'normal' locations.

Off the top of my head, any of the following would be good:
-the Anasazi Indians of New Mexico (cave wall cities)
-more Roman stuff (as opposed to Greek)
-Sumeria/Babylon (huge ziggurat pyramids, Tower of Babel)
-Jerusalem (Jewish, Christian and Islamic architecture all in one place, plus Lara's never hunted for any Biblical treasures yet)
-Persia (hot right now after the 300 movie)
-Japan (Buddhist warrior monk or native Ainu temple)
I always thought the movie 28 Days Later would be a good 'Raiding' scenario! Lara could be responsible for finding some sort of antidote in the almost abandoned cities - defending herself against the infected 'zombies' as she goes and raiding the shops for meds and various other useful items :D
'But there are no tombs!' I hear you cry. But I guess that entering many buildings full of the infected who had starved to death would be similar to entering tombs!
Ignore me! I'm just waiting to see the sequel - 28 Weeks Later. I wonder what will come after that - 28 Months Later?
Incidentally, slightly off topic, last night I ordered that CD by Brian Eno containing the ambient piece 'Ascent' that was playing in the first film as the survivors made their way to the military checkpoint and drove off up the motorway past the windmills. Alright, Space idea... sounds dumb. Cmon people... Can you seriously imagine Lara bouncing around space in a giant space suit? It looked dumb in Tomb Raider: Chronicles with her wearing that wierd scuba diving suit. Lets not recreate the headaches please. However, someone talked about a Lochness theme? That... is interesting. It would be cool if Lara searched for a LIVING artifact for once, instead of some random piece of trash like a "Scion"
That giant snake thing in Tomb Raider: Legends (which is actually quite frightening playing at 12:00 at night with just headphones on and all graphics as high as possible. Looked pretty tight too... wish i could shoot AT the monster instead of the bells... that was boring...
But hey, remake the giant snake dude, and make him BIIIIGGA! and make Lara...idk go on a wild goose chase to kill this animal and then she gets emotionally connected to it when she sees its eyes or idk something wierd and make this big story about it. Just as long as you keep it so theres more dangerous animals and traps than big thugs with guns.
Tomb Raider 1 was the best, because it was like Indiana Jones, with a hot female main character. There were only 4 characters in the game who could talk, and it was like a wild goose chase with mystery and classic tomb surprises.
Making the next Tomb Raider like this would ensure a GOOD GAME. But when you start imagining Lara Croft fighting baddies with guns in buildings in Tokyo, ya might as well give her a pair of nightvision goggles, an FN2000, and a black jumpsuit... have her join the ranks with Sam Fisher :D
Speaking of which.. sounds like a cool Thread Topic... Check it out guys...
Sam VS Lara... who would win?
Post your comments on this in the thread.
Lara doesn't have to bounce around in space - I am assuming there will be a convenient space station up there although bouncing around in a space suit sounds like fun to me! ;)
The diving suit you mentioned in Chronicles was fine because you only have to make her swim in that, not walk. She looked rather weird, I am not entirely convinced she was supposed to appear this way - I have a screenshot of her face back home on my own PC from when she was wearing the diving suit - her eyes look rather menacing.

I realy like the idea of space - not throughout the whole game though but i would realy like Lara to sneak onto a rocket and have to find her way back to Earth :nut: It would be funny for her to find these wierd guns and offensive objects, just to change from the shotgun or the uzis ^^
I never played TRII to find out what the levels underwater were like, but I like the sound of something like the Titanic. Even like in the film, "The Cradle Of Life", she should find her way under the water to a sunken tomb - as the game is called Tomb Raider... But then if that was the case, the enemies would be very limited...there could be thugs coming after the same artifact though! :) ( And i'm very sorry for repeting the word "like" in that paragraph :p )
I also thought Lara could be accidently transported into the future so she discovers futuristic tombs! Mind it may be similar to the space levels...

Sounds like fun eh? ;) Have you any ideas as to what would constitute as a good location or storyline for future games?
Lo :)
I would rather see her at good looking scenery... or big city... islands... desert...

It was a good film, but please no!!
I don't like zombies!! :(
WOW! Zombies, that is scary. Well, the groans that the mutants made from the original were zombie like. Maybe that could up the feel of isolation because they are mindless and scary.
There are still some great locations in England to cover - even in London. Maybe she could sneak into the Houses of Parliament and introduce Tony B-Liar to the contents of her grenade launcher :D

Some like (please dont kill me for saying this) AOD bit RPG but not on the run but in some unknown island and she has got to find her way off with her pistols and thing like that i don't know.
Avalon trying to find her mother but one thing about that. She has got to find another stone!

Shortly after playing Resident Evil II and TR3, I read an article in PSM magazine (I think) about the decline in the Tomb Raider series... including an interview with the developer. Feeling strongly about the deviations in the games since TR1, I did something I'd never done before - I wrote a letter to Eidos....
One of the things I did in the letter was to point out why I though TR1 was the best in the series: for instance (and this is just one item), I mentioned that to me, the major appeal was that it was markedly not an "action" game - Lara didn't shoot anything that wasn't trying to do her in, and exploration was the main theme, with Tombs being the star of the show. I tried to stress the point that it was the closest thing to an adult oriented game I'd ever seen.
I also added something else while I was at it - I enclosed a (now long lost) plot summary proposing a "getting back to basics" game storyline that started her in the Carpathian Mountains where she had a chance encounter with a (somewhat) benevolent vampire who was seeking his own death after discovering that "ye olde stake through the heart" trick was just a Bram Stoker fairytale. I cannot recall all of the locations I proposed, but Machu Piccu was one of them, as were fictional catacombs underneath Stonehenge. The tale culminated in Hell where she had to seriously negotiate with Satan (think "final boss" here) to get access to the vampire's soul long enough to free it; allowing him to finally die naturally.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble....lol. I never heard anything back in regard to it - no surprise :-)...
Oh, and just for the record, at the time I also suggested remaking TR1 on the basis that I was mightily impressed with the graphics of Resident Evil II and that all that TR1 needed was a basic "modernization". Keep in mind that back then a lot of the Lara mythos didn't exist yet (or I simply wasn't aware of it) and I believed that I had a totally unique idea (oh how naive)...lol

Hmm it's a shame that you didn't get any sort of reply, even if it was just a bog standard acknowledgement that they could send out in bulk - one step up from a compliments slip, if you will ;)
Still, there are some good ideas in there and in other posts here. I too particularly liked the idea of incorporating Stonehenge. Having lived there in the early part of this decade (2000-2003), I can safely say that Wiltshire boasts some top tourist attractions of historical relevance.
There's Avebury stones and it's also a crop-circle seeker's paradise. Even the Most Haunted team were down in the area investigating a haunting in the Red Lion pub. A group of bikers and I met up there and I fluttered my eyelashes at the relief manager and asked if we could take a tour of the upstairs accommodation and take some photos. He was very obliging :D
The Scotland levels in TR The Lost Artefact were reminiscent of Stonehenge (Willard's Lair & Highland Fling). There were ancient stones similar to those of Stonehenge in the secret area at the end of the Willard's Lair level.
I would think it quite feasible to build a storyline around this area.

Here's a way out idea: What if Lara somehow manages to get herself 'lost' in the Bermuda Triangle and it's a race against time to find a way back? But you know Lara's race against times - they last as long as it takes for the player to figure it all out.
Well, I like the Bermuda Triangle idea. Some of the legends say it is where Atlantis is, others that there is a giant Pyramid underwater at the centre.....hmmm sounds like TR1 :D
Interestingly, the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has long since been challenged and 'solved' depending on what we choose to believe of course.
One thing Wiki lists as a natural cause is Methane:
An explanation for some of the disappearances has focused on the presence of vast fields of methane hydrates on the continental shelves.
If this is so and Lara goes to investigate, I suggest she leaves Winston behind lest his own contributions significantly further the threat to any living thing in the area :D

I wont kill you , I liked the optional choices in the conversations. That's what i mena with the market. Some bad English people who are at the streets.
And I was thinking of an Island before , actually wrote a fiction about it.
Lara's old friend dies and has as will that Lara finds something to stop a old curse. The document he left Lara had a location that wasn't on the map , it said
something aobut a key. Lara finds out she needs a special artefact (with the hlep of symbols she found somewhere). With that artefact she can get through the barrier around the Island. The Island is in connection with heaven & hell , people who are stuck on the world because of emotions or w/e gets stuck there.
The artefact she has cna make the ghosts mortal again , so she placed it on her gun and so she can shoot with it and actually kill. The highest mountian on the island seems to ahve a temple with the negative part of the Artefact Lara has. She needs to get the stones together so they will come otgether (but there's a force like magnets os it's hard) and then they'll destroy themselfs.
Meanwhile Lara gets trapped in a sort of church , where the leader of the island wants her blood , because the leader is half-mortal.
But when she eventually got the stones together there's a big explosion because of the selfdestructing artefacts. Lara runs and jumops off the mountain. The heli picks Lara up because the barrier is gone end all the ghosts rest in peace..
=--------------
Lol there happens more but this fast written with many mistakes lol is kinda the mainstory

I would like it if Lara climbed a mountain in China with temple on top and maybe throw in some panda's. Perhaps a simlar chinese temple as in TRII.
Although I throughly enjoyed riding the Ducati of the bridges in TRL.

Not evil ones...
Or maybe it will teach Lara not to shoot innocent animals.

:lmao:
Stonehenge! OMG! Sorry - I can't even think of the word without the Eddie Izzard flashback: "They built Stonehenge, one of the biggest henges in the world. No one's built a henge like that ever since. No one knows what the <bleep> a henge is. Before Stonehenge, there was Woodhenge and Strawhenge, but a big bad wolf came and blew them down, and three little piggies were relocated to the projects."
:D
Another location/scenario possibility would be to do a riff on "Gallows Tree" - some gargantuan haunted mansion/swamp/castle/tomb with bats-a-plenty and various lost souls? Or maybe I've been playing too much "Mr. Bones" lately ('great old Sega Saturn title with a Ronnie Montrose soundtrack and cameo as the Blind Man...) Scary is always fun, and ghosts are always good for story content.

Does anybody has the feeling that after Legend Tomb Raider has gotten so real that extremely fictional monsters don't fit in the future games? I have that feeling even though there where 2 great monsters in Legend. I hope anniversary makes this up ^^

How about Romania. There are some great mountains there.I think The Carpathian Mountains...
Would be a nice and unexplored place...

Absolutely not. The imagination is basically limitless and the the peeps at eidos and CD must have research teams who can route around and find somewhere on a globe and in a mythical book/history book which will inspire them. And they could always put a survey up on this forum and on fansites asking the fans. As long as they don't include too many mercenaries etc. I'll be happy.
I mean the Egyptians and the Peruvians can't be the only ancient civilizations out there can they? . I like the idea of Stonehenge someone mentioned. Exploring old druid myths sounds believable.

Well, there's lots of civilization left, I agree. Even though Lara has visited places like India and Arizona, the levels weren't so much about the indigenous culture really. Same with China and Japan.
I agree human enemies should be kept to a minimum. Someone on another board said it was significant when you met a human in TR1.

Well, She hast to stay in the tombs for most of the time!
But I would like something in Persian style (like Prince of Persia :P)
I also love the tombs in South America (like bolivia) but not bolivia and peru again (may be Brazille?)
I'm also wondering what they would make if they put Lara in the Netherlands
Beautifull country.. really..

There's a million StoneHenges down here in Cornwall. They are lonely, beautiful and very mysterious. They also bring up a lot of questions about the past. And most are built on top of tombs!! Plus there's actual real treasure and artifacts already been found at them.
Sounds like a perfect TR location, don't you think?
