The minimum says 1.4 so if you are 2.1 then you probably are OK. It will depend more on what video card setup you have.

Alexlovesguns

Uses way less HD space than Legend? Never understood why Legend took 7+ gigs...
Based on the recomended requirements i presume the graphics will be much better on the PC, hopefully no glitches this time .

Min specs are generous so i think everyone who uses the pc to game with will be able to run the game .

Do you mean that the 3 in front of the 1.4 isn't significant? If so, phew!:D

I'm hoping my Geforce 6600 will hold out till dx10 is figured out. I should be replacing almost everything by then.

I think you'll find that's 'Pentium 3' 1.4 GHz.

I think the minimum specs quoted are really low. In fact, by today's standards, even the recommended specs are pretty low. I can't believe 64mb Graphics. There's obviously no 'NextGen' option in this game! I was hoping for Tomb Raider 1 with Legend graphics. I can see I'm not going to get it! Ah, well - at least if it looks as good as Legend does with NextGen off, it will still be awesome to play some of those first scenes again in that quality.
Can't wait.

4gb is quite a bit less then Legend, so I'd imagine the extra was all NG balk to begin with. I'm just hoping we get the same route with this game that capcom recently did to RE4 on PC. They didn't port it with all the proper lighting effects and updated with a 70mb patch to match it's gamecube counterpart, so if luck holds out we'll be getting the same later.

Which slows everything down I presume ^^

Is Tomb Raider Anniversary compatible with vista 64bit ?
After Tomb Raider legend crashing a hell of a lot on my 64bit system I asked customer support and they told me it isn't compatible with 64Bit OS.

So I asked them about Anniversary and they say they don't know and to ask in this thread. So here I am... Is Tomb Raider Anniversary compatible with vista 64bit ?

good question  there is XP / Vista in the OS section but there is nothing about Bit mode 32 or 64...

Maybe try the demo first when it will be available to find out if it works fine on your system...

When I find out something more I will post it here...

btw: Looks like it must be compatible with DirectX 9.0c like Tomb Raider Legend... so maybe Tomb Raider Anniversary will be working fine if Tomb Raider Legend works fine for You...

Demo won't help, legend only crashed in specific areas and they were very far from the beginning of the game, which was not covered in the demo.

Anyone know what pixel shader it will be using? Im guessing 2 but Legend also had 3 for next gen stuff. Im a bit confused.

Hmmm what do you guys think , PC or PS2?

I would go with PS2 , as a Hardcore gamer with both pc and ps2 games ps2 is much easier to control and less can go wrong *touch wood*

Little confused by this..

Recommended system req
CPU:
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz or Athlon 64 3000+

Now supposedly Anniversary isn't next gen like Legend so why does it need the same processor speed that Legend needed to run with next gen enabled? Or is that processor speed being set as the recommended because Vista is a system hog so those with Vista will need the extra push?

can anyone post that site that tells you if your computer can handle tomb raider anniversary? I'm unsure if my computer can.

there was one for legend.

Deviancy
05-20-2007, 01:43 PM
Anniversary isn't on that site yet..

http://www.srtest.com

And all that site does is read your system info and compare your system info to what information they got from the publisher.

So all you have to do is take your system info and compare it to the system requirements posted on this thread.

NickyBoy
05-20-2007, 01:48 PM
Oh, ok. But the requirements are just the ones like Legend, right? My computer could play Legend with the lowest resolution.

Deviancy
05-20-2007, 02:19 PM
Legend had minimum, recomended and optimal requirements..

Anniversary just has minimum and recomended since there's no next gen..

If you were able to run Legend you should have no issue whatsoever with Anniversary. You should even be able to run it better...

What gpu and processor are you running?

Box art I've seen suggests this is a Game For Windows, and one of the "requirements" of GFW is that it must be compatible on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. Besides that, any games I used to play on XP Pro 32-bit also work fine on Vista 64-bit, providing they can actually be installed without a 64-bit warning (all games I have that won't run on 64-bit come up saying so when I try to install them, as opposed to installing and then having issues). I've never actually heard of people having game problems on Vista 64-bit where people do not have them on Vista 32-bit... most issues I hear with games compared to XP Pro seem to happen to users on all versions of Vista. Also, those people having issues with Legend on Vista, make sure you have compatibility mode set, as this often helps to run many games well in Vista. Whilst I don't own the game on PC, it's worth a try if you haven't already done it... go to the game's install folder, locate the main executable, right click for properties, go to the compatibility tab, then tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop down list, then apply.

Back on track, these system requirements are pretty low for the quality of visuals I see in game media so far. Even Doom 3's requirements were a little higher when it came out I think, though I won't go on the compare visuals with Doom 3 because both games have entirely different art directions which therefore require their rendering methods to be different anyway. I'd personally say considering those differences in art direction that TRA looks great for the system specifications, and I can't wait to have a blast running it on a Core 2 E6600, 8800GTX and 2GB of RAM.

I have a question here, since it's support Vista, so is it a Game for Windows title, and the most important is: Does it support 64bit version of Vista? SO many game which claim that support Vista are NOT support vista 64bit !!!

Also, as I said earlier, box art suggests this is a Game For Windows, and as quoted on the Games For Windows (http://global.gamesforwindows.com/en-GB/aboutGFW/gamesForWindows.aspx) site:
2) Compatibility. Games for Windows branded titles work on Windows XP and Windows Vista based PCs, including both 32 and 64 bit editions. So it should well work on on Vista 64-bit, maybe even without the need to run XP SP2 compatability mode too.

In fact, by today's standards, even the recommended specs are pretty low.

Yeah, those recommended specs are in fact min. specs or less for most of the games today. I got my current PC around 3 years ago with hardware that pretty much matches the rec. specs (although the processor is P4 3.20Ghz with I guess, Hyper threading or sommat?) and a Geforce 6800 card. At the time, that was a top of the range set up and I've seen it slip right down to off the bottom. So it's very suprising and nice to see a soon to be released game that still treats my system as top of the range.

I have got the ATI Gigabyte Radeon X600 Pro 128MB and I was able to play in 1280 x 1024 resolution with full options to max except antialiasing... I guess Tomb Raider Anniversary better handle the hardware than Tomb Raider Legend where I have 1024 x 768... nice

I met the requirments but still get a blank screen on run game.
I have this game running on this same machine on Vista Home Premium 32 bit with a 7200 GeForse graphics card. All installed systems and drivers have been updated. So why wont it play now. (I did have a message at the finish of installation saying my bought disk was a copy)-(which is bull)_(wouldn't have been able to load and play it before.
Can any one give a reason for why it want play now.:mad2:
