I read somewhere that the game is supposed to take at least 15 hours to complete. I remember that the original took me like 20 hrs to complete when I first played it and now waiting for anniversary I'm trying to get it much lower. So far I can beat the game without using any cheats in a little under 10 hours but that is not even trying to go fast. Ohh this is also getting every secret as well

What is the best anyone has done and do you have any tricks for going fast?

It will take me a lot longer to complete TR:A than 15 hours. It took me a week to complete Legend, as easy as that was. :lmao:

But why do you want to rush the game? Stop and take your time and ENJOY IT. Whats the point of just going through it so fast?

Hmmm....

15 hours of gameplay, with 15 of the original levels from TR, so that means each level will be about an hour :D

There is no way I'll be able to complete a level in an hour.

I expect it will take people a lot longer than they think, purely due to the fact that everyone who played the original will be running around comparing everything. I never completed the original myself, as I was nine when it came out and it was so tough I couldn't do it without cheats. Actually saying that legend is the only one Ive completed all the way through, which is kind of embarrassing!

One of the reasons I've stopped watching videos is because I want to see how CD does designing puzzles that aren't solved for you by Zip and Alistair and the RAD device. While Legend's puzzles weren't very large in scope, their ease was definitely abetted by constant assistance. Made for some pretty quick solutions. ;)

Hopefully CD has ramped up the puzzle difficulty and scope, and with only myself (and whoever is in the room with me) trying to figure it out, the gameplay will last longer. :D

I am not saying that I want to rush the game but I didn't know if 15 hours is based on taking your time exploring or the minimum to be expected.

The quickness of playing I was referring to was with the original game.

I just hope that CD realizes that instead of making a new game every year it would be better to get one every few years and have them take days to beat instead of legend which was done in less than a day.

Can't wait for the game to come out, I wish I didn't stumble on the website until now so the wait wouldn't seem so long, at least I won't have to worry about school when it comes out.

Uh, no! I would hate that... it would be too long, once a year is long enough...
And I loved having at least a months worth of gameplay, come on, I mean like why wait a year then finish the game in a day or two or even three, when with all the time we've been waiting we could "invest" that time in playing a month of the game.... that's if edios and CD can actually do that again :p

I know, totally agree. I take time to enjoy the good graphics, great scenery, and other intense details that makes it all worth while.

I'll add one more agreement with you, Athiest. Someone once asked "What purpose is the walk button" to which I replied something like

"Unless you're doing a time trial, it isn't a race. Some of us like to take a leisurely stroll through the exquisitely detailed environments."

Although, having said that, I found that all too often in Legend the details were all in the (non-explorable) background. Not many nooks and crannies to explore. Anniversary is looking "explorer friendly" so far. I plan to take WAY more than 15 hours to complete Anniversary.

I'm really hoping the environment is "explorer friendly" too! It drove me batty in Legend to not be able to go anywhere but the well-beaten path.

I've already started comparing! When I get new screenshots I recognise the area they're from, and then start comparing it with what the original was like. A bad habit I need to get out of before I play the game. :o

well, here are my final stats for the original tomb raider, Beat the entire game in 9:25 hours so a minimum 15 hours is cool, hopefully the mansion is an additional 15 hours lol, wouldn't that be cool.

This is what I've found myself doing too. Must Stop.

But worse than that, I can't help wondering if many 'seasoned' raiders are just gonna fly through. I mean we've played TR1 before, we know what's coming! I know this can't be right because we've been promised that TRA is more than just a remix.

I know one thing: I'll take loads longer than 15 hours playing it. But what does this 15 hours mean? Is this going from A-B and getting to the end asap? Or does that include all the exploration, including secret finding? Are there secrets to be found? And then of course there's probable time trials.

I don't think re-playing TR1 is much of a guide either. Not if TRA has a lot of discoverable areas that aren't in the original. Just a thought.

sounds good, what do you mean Time Trials, is this something like the quad bike track in TR3

now that I think of it, it really won't be (mostly) our choice to explore, because in action time flies so I think once we get into looking around the action of fighting enemies will make us want to go forward in the game instead of snooping around.:)

There is no way I'll be able to complete a level in an hour.
The oginal Level One could be completed in around seven to eleven minutes,
sometimes less. I remember we used to do challenges to see how fast we could get through.
I'm sure different levels will take different times.

Lol, same with me! I never completed the original, I was 7 when it came out :p
The only reason I remember some bits like the Mutant is because I cheated
I'm replaying it now though, so I'll have more memories to jog when I play TR:A.

And yes, Legend is the only one I've completed all the way through.
But shh!
Don't tell anyone!

I'm not worried about that. I'm an explorer & I like to enjoy the breathtaking graphics when playing a game. Legend for the 360 & I have had over 40 hours of playtime together. Anniversary will be no different. I'm gonna enjoy this game & walk throughout the entire adventure & watch Lara's sexy a$$ move. Like legend! I simply loved exploring the Manor with that white bikini.

Palas Midas anyone?:p
That level took me almost 2 days.. I got stuck on a few parts, and sometimes I went totally the wrong way.

Legend took me 1 and a half day to complete, and I certainly hope that Anniversary will take me 2 weeks or so. :)

(Don't forgot to collect the rewards!).

TRL may have taken a shortish (comapritivly) time to complete but i have had more reply value from TRL than any TR game since TR2 .... imagine TRA and any future Tr games from CD if they are as good or better than TRL and longer....... jeeps none of us will ever live a life again   serioously how great is that scenario going to be? :D :D
