I have posted this on the 360 discussion thread but feel I need to put this up for general discussion
last night I had couple of mp games one on islands of solomns and one on battle of the coral sea.I will get to the coral sea one in a bit.All was going well on islands of solomns started of 4v4 but at the end it was 2v1 i was on the japenese side had just lost my cruiser but still had my sub left so started heading for the american carriers.Got round the southern islands heading east one carrier left about to dive down and head for the last carrier then I was kicked from the session for no reason I could fathom.I had taken on and beat a battleship and won my health of my cruiser was down in the red when Cruiser on full health appeared took that on and managed to get that as well but we sunk each other at the same time. After the match I pressed the guide button and viewed the list of recent players and clicked on the two players that had beeen in the same match as me.On one of them I was like WTF? He did not own the game.
My question is is someone who runs only the demo able to host games I was sure he was the host.
Now for the whinge/moan The reason I love this game there is no teamkilling well thats what I thought until last night on the coral sea map.I had left my cruser beside the carriers after Ilost my sub and DD was bringing the cruiser into play. The cruiser had taken some damage from air attacks but was light green in damage.Next second I am being torpedoed and shell did a 360 of my surroundings but no american units near me.Then I saw where it was coming from My own team mate was shelling and putting torps into my cruiser from his dd he was right along side me the americans were still far away so he was not shooting me by accident. He sunk my cruiser so it was game over for me.Rant over.:)
im pretty sure someone on the demo can host games, but of course its only islands of soloman....and in one of my first few games online i accidently sank a friendly DD, infact it was one of the DD's i had control of, lol, i didnt know it of course till i was almost done destroying it and accidently hit the Q button and switched to that ship (pc version), i felt like an idiot, but i guess it was a learning experience

I finally figured out the two questions - LoL - sorry.
1. Can a demo owner player host a game? - Answer is YES
2. Can the player damage it's own or other but friendly player's assets? - Answer is YES

Lol,
Yeah, there's some dummies out there. However I must say that "team damage" is a must. Those shells will explode no matter what they hit, friendly or not. It should stay that way.

I agree with the other guy, but my surgestion to you is to avoid him (360), and try not to play with him again. I know its **** , but there are some itiots out there whose purpuse in life is to kill his team.

Well yeah.
I think there are two separate issues here:
1. The friendly fire in such a game like this is a must. This is where it gets reasonably "real".
2. The misuse of friendly fire to ruin gameplay by dumb people is a problem. This title needs more robust server management functions to make sure unwanted players can get banned or kicked. PC and XBOX360 might call for different techniques to do that but it should be the developer's problem :D

I agree. I have been torped by friendlies so many times...:nut: . I remember my first game I shot at my own Kongo for a half a volley before realizing that it was mine...I hurt it kinda bad, too.

I had that happen to me. I had a CL almost at there carriers, that's all they had left. I was just in range when boom, I'm being destroyed, but no enemy.
The guy in the battleship behind me was shooting at me and blew up. I didn't know what happened at first, as I didn't think FF was on. Obvious, he wanted the kills for himself.
Does this really happen, FF...

He may have been a smaktard and deliberatly Team killing, in which case he aint going to be playing many games especially with the Host's 'Kick' function in game
but on the other hand i have seen quite a few instances of new players attaking the first ship they see  just due to total inexperience and lack of any idea. Demo map in particular as you get alot of first timers there.
as the GW Bush motto goes "Never under estimate the power of stupidity"
NOTE: Auto torpedoe Ai is a little Dim and will often launch a spread of torps with no care who is in the line o fire...

first of all, FF should be kept on. I love games where FF is on, makes you to pay more attention. Intentional TK'rs may be kicked from the host tbh in no mather what condition. I only had 1 TK'r on my host and removed him instantly after saying to him that TK is inappropriate or not appeciated! Eitherway, everybody was happy once he was gone ;)
Now just only a Ban function and maybe a master ban list where lame ass tking kiddo's could be placed on which makes the game more joyable for everybody :D

it's just so sad when you have the big kill coming and someone teamkills you , so they can do it. It's happening all the time. Host need to pay attention and kick these nuts.

Host need to pay attention and kick these nuts. The host is usually playing and cant always pay attention on what's happening unless it drops in their eyes. Therefor the chat exists to call in the hoster to boot the b*st*rd of his host. If else some msg's could be delivered in game it's a lot more easier to see if some1 is tk'ing or not.

This brings back memories of Age of Empires II.
There was only one unit that could do team damage - the bombard cannon.
I used to play with my friend side-by-side and as she went to attack someone with 40 or so knights, I moved in her base w/the bombard and started blowing stuff up. It was hilarious watching her freak out after losing all her knights and going to rebuild them.
Though teamkilling in most modern games is junk and I'd never do it unless I knew the person in real life

People have actually done that just to get a kill?? I would think this is more of a "Team Wins" type of game.....I don't think points matter that much especially when people cooperate to take down objectives and escorts and such.
