I am thinking about buying this game.
Ok, here is what I am wondering. Is your CD key tied to your gamespy account?
Basically, can I use 1 copy of this game to play on LAN/Online with someone else on the same LAN. Some games do not allow it at all, some only allow it on lan, and some will allow you both to play online together as long as one of you is hosting the server (because the connection exists in LAN anyways).
Please, serious responses only.
i think on lan your ok (no gamespy), but as for the rest just a guess really...
if it follows the standard pc game p2p server set up (dedicated servers usually dont work lan/net crossover), like other rts's, then on lan it will work, on the net it wont, if you can see the host server through the lan option when the host is hosting on the net, then it should work also because you wont be using gamespy to join the server.
It really depends on how the devs set it up..... but most of the time they leave the games open to lan play figuring lan parties are good free advertizing :D
Besides if you really like the demo, then take a chance buy it try it, and worst case if it doesnt work, your room mate can always buy it too :P

Well, this is to anyone who owns the game. Can you create more than one GameSpy account, or is it like Splinter Cell (1 account per CD key)???

The game doesnt has a CD-Key nor some recognition to link at you. So you could easely install the game on your pc and go 20 miles further installing on that pc without having login problems between different or the same accounts.
In order to play online you can use # gamespy id's that wish, yet, it depends on the amount of profiles you can create in the game and if you're up to change the login details for # times within the same profile.
For LAN you dont need gamespy to play.
