Ok to all those that have no idea how to give units I will begin to explain, but first lets look at the many benefits of giving units to your teamates.

First off you will have more humans controlling units, and for the most part this is a good thing since the ai is not all that effective. Secondly you give all those players that lost their units early somthing to do while they wait for the game to end, infact having your dead teamates control a squad of fighters or an extra DD can mean the difference in a close fight. Human controlled fighters dominate ai fighters. Human controlled DD can easily dodge torpedoes and shoot down planes, the ai has no idea wtf its doing most of the time and can get pwned by a single torp plane.

:) "Ok so how do you give units to your mates?" Well its easy, on the map screen hover over one of your own units (make sure it is unselected) and click the mid mouse button. Thats it, you then get a list of your teamates and you chose who to give it to.

:( "So I tried that and it still doenst work?" This is a common bug with some sytems and the default mid mouse will not function correctly when giving units. You will need to bind the "give unit" key to somthing else in the options, controls menu. This is very easy to do.

 "I've tried to give units and nothing happens?" Is the unit you are trying to give selected? Is it yellow and are you in control of that unit? You cannot give units that you are in direct control over, you will need to click another unit then hover the mouse over that unit in the map screen and try again.

:mad2: "I gave away my shipyard/CV/Airfield and now I cant make any more units from it?" yeah well then dont give away these things as once you do you cannot get it back unless specified by the player that you gave it to. Only give the planes or ships if you want to continue spawning units yourself.

Thats it, the basics of giving units. It pisses me off to no end to ask for a fighter squad or a damaged DD only to be responded with "how do I do that?" or "I didnt know you can do that?" or even the ignorant "There my ships, noone can have em but me!" So remember to always give units if your teamates are dead, its proper ettiqutte, tactful, and above all else very considerate. (especially if the host lost all their units) Besides you can then get a warm fuzzy feeling inside and isnt that benefit alone worth it? :p

i still remember my first online session, our team won in the end but I ended up having so many units cos one person dropped out. The other dead teammate was requesting for spare units. i wanted to give one but dunno how. To make matters worse, I don't know how to chat >.< After some searching, Im now fully capable. So its always a good thing to give new players the wisdom.

One note is becareful who and what you give your unit too. Or it may backfire. I onced captained as the Yamato with 2 DD escorts. Near the end of the game, I gave 2 DD to a teammate, he drove one off the map, and the other was sunk by enemy air strikes. I was damaged from a previous intense surface battle and was up against swarms of enemy planes without escort AA cover. I almost lost that game. It was one CV vs one BB. Still gg that one ;)
