View Full Version : What happened to Kain?

I'm concerned about what Kain would have to do after the end of Defiance? Bresumably in that timeline there are 2 Kains:the fledgling one (that is going to kill the HL after 400 years) and the future (purified) one. We do know what will happen with the fledgeling kain, but we don't know what will happen to the future one. Since the elder god and Moebius are all dead, Kain has no means to travel anywhere in time so his only choise is to stay in this timeline.
But we haven't heard anything about him in BO2. The question is: where could he be? Since the fledgeling Kain in going to take over Nosgoth what is he gonna do about the future one?

Or here's another theory: the purified Kain might have somehow restored the pillars by sacrificing himself, then the events in BO2 have been going on already with the restored pillars (the fledgeling Kain didn't know about it since he never visited the pillars during BO2)

What do u think?

I don't think Kain put an end to the EG in Defiance. He only immobilized him long enough to escape the spirit forge. Time travel also wouldn't be out of the question. We saw Raziel travel to the future and then back to Janos' time in SR2, long after Moe was dead using only the time device. We also saw both Kain and Raz travel back through the chronoplast looong after Moe was gone. It seems he doesn't need to be around.

I think it would be in elder Kain's best interest to avoid his younger self in the Defiance timeline. Perhaps if he did make contact with him it would be to talk him out of going up against the Hylden lord in the first place or avoiding Raziel in William's chapel, but history can't be changed that way. Well, whatever.

Yeah, he beat the Elder God up, but didn't kill him, and I figure the Chronoplast or those time streaming places in SR2 would almost certainly be able to take Kain back to the future.
And I wouldn't totally rule out Elder Kain meeting Younger Kain, though I don't know why he would. I figure Elder Kain would cloak himself to hide himself as much as he can. I still don't see much reason why though.
