I posted a thread similar to this over at Gamespot.com, and everyone who replied to it said that they want a skirmish mode in BS:M.
Here's the thread:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/strategy/midway/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-33270106&pid=932655
BTW, so far more than 30 people have said "Yes" in the above thread.
So, if you want to see a skirmish mode, vote "Yes", or "No' in the poll.
I understand that the game is released already, but I would like to see a skirmish mode in the future, perhaps as downloadable content.

please don't call me an idiot, but what does going gold mean exactly?

Going gold means that it is going to sell by the bucket load.
I cannot understand why they would leave out skirmish mode, thats if they have but I'm starting to get used to it happening with games now.

No, Gold means it's done and sent to the publishers to be....published.
Which means anything beyond that point has to be released in a patch.

But will the game still sell by the bucketload? :D lol
I hope because that means that there will be more people for me to send to their watery grave:thumbsup:

Skrimish mode would be awesome! They should test how many ships/planes can be on the map at once, and let us max it out! That would be sweet.

Yeah, I definitely hope that Eidos considers putting a skirmish mode in for the next installment of Battlestations...

I was under the impression BSM already had a skirmish mode and would ship thusly.

"Going Gold" refers to the "master disk" being released for mass manufacturing (making copies from the source disk essentially).
And "absolutely!!!" for a skirmish mode.

I read somewhere that there is a Co-Op mode already, but I might be wrong...
It would be incredibly sweet of course, but I think such a thing is too big for DLC!

Yeha skirmish mode would be a great idea and to pick ships and/or carriers and last one alive wins. Also be cool to pick any ship per side like yamoto vs yamoto that be INTENSE!!!!:nut:

There is that game called "Kameo" for the 360 (it's an RPG of some sort) and months after it's release, the devs for the game released a Co-op gametype for Kameo for everyone to download off of Xbox Live.
Maybe Eidos could do the same thing with Skirmish mode.
