Not sure about the Pearl Harbour mission (though I doubt it would be included) but sure, I enjoy playing on the Japanese side.

I think both sides are well balanced but I like taking out Aircraft Carriers with my Subs.

yea, that would kind of be wierd acting out an undefended slaughter over and over again. it would get old after the first time. unless there was a time limit and you had to sink a certain amount of ships/airfields within the time limit. but the enemy wouldnt fight back really. the sailors and pilots were all sleeping or just waking up. i think we only shot down a total 20 planes. not sure though...

I haven't seen any stats on this but in my opinion the Japaneese naval fleet in the Demo is supperior to the US fleet where the US Air is supperior to the Japaneese air (with maybe torp planes edging to the Japaneese).
I have had success with both side you just have to understand the strength and weaknesses and use them to your advantage.
I will say when I play as Japaneese the battles are usually a little shorter than if I play with the U.S.

I play Japanese side exclusively.

I like the Japanese battleships as they tend to take a lot of abuse and still keep moving along. I have only lost 1 in battle when I have been at the the controls and doing damage control.

Japs own in the demo because all the noobs take the American spots first.

Any player worth their salt will see the balance.

Fletcher pwns Fubuki.

That being said, I play Japs, because I know all the noobs are gonna be on the American side. Beyond that, in an equally skilled game, I am side-neutral.

I'm almost always playing as the Japanese. Kongo class ships seem near indestructible.

Man you guys must be going up against total noobs. Americans are just as good if not better than the japanese. All you need to do is make 2 bb and directly send them to the shipyard ( controlling 1 of them ofcourse cause ai is pretty retarted), place the aircraft carriers behind the island which makes it pretty hard to hit due to the ai almost always going from top of the island, with the torpedo bombers, which makes them vulnerable to aa fire, create 5 sets of dive bombers including 1 dive bomber unit with depth charges ( which can take out a sub in 1 blow) and 1 set of fighters to keep the enemy fighters busy.

The dive bombers can pretty much take out the airfield in 2 runs if not 1. Also place people in water on the aircraft carrier (while launching planes) to prevent its health from massively decreasing if hit by torpedoes. I have been using this startegy and have won countles battles with an average score of 5000. Once i scored 10 thousand lol, that battle lasted 3 hrs (4vs4) which was the most fun i ever had in a video game. THIS GAME ROCKSSSSSS!! I will soon make a japanese strategy!!

the Japanese are awesome
their planes are as great as the americans but the ships more than make up for this. The Kongo is almost too powerful for the Renown to handle without significant help. I try to play exclusively Japanese because their ships are just cooler than anything the americans have

I initially played on the Japanese side (for the first 10 or so engagements) and thought: wow, this game is pretty unbalanced. The IJN's KONGO class BB was, I thought, clearly superior to anything the USN could muster. It didn't take me long to figure out that you could easily take two of those out, sail straight through the allies shipyards and take each one down with a couple of salvos from the main guns.

Then I started playing the USN and that's when I realized that both sides can be played equally well, as long as the team works together (which is rarely the case if you don't play with people you already know). In fact, unless I was playing with morons (the kind who sends his carriers to engage battleships... not the planes mind you, but the carrier itself), I won as many rounds playing the USN as I did playing the IJN.

I can't say how much I like this game. Very deep, very engrossing. And the closest thing to a simulation/strategy title on the XBOX360. How refreshing!

that the Renown has a faster rate of fire than the Kongo...must matches seem to come down to whoever is the better BB commander. With team work being the other equalizer...But most matches I've seen end with a BB blowing the H out of something. At first I thought the Kongo was Superior, then I just realized I'm just a very good shot (once I played with the Renown)...And I've taken down 2 Kongo's with one Renown, and on a seperate occasion with a Northampton (CA)

I've probably played both sides equally in all the hours I have logged in with the demo. I would say that no one side has any clear advantage, it all comes down to the calibre of players on your team.

I like either side. I like the choice to continuously move the aircraft carriers, ergo keeping my plane HUB safer then they would be if they were static like the japanese airfields, but i also like to know that my airfields are reasonably safe out in the distance.

The japs kick big arse and that kongo bb is a tough ship i rather use that anyday over the repulse and it aa is sick (when u use it).

The Kongo-class BB is great on the Jap's side, it even has an extra deck gun over the Renown-class BB.
