Tomb Raider movie

If they ever decide to make another Tomb Raider movie, I think it should be based on the very first Tomb Raider game. I didnt care for the movies because it just didnt suit the Lara Croft that is in the video games. So yeah they sucked lol.
I would think it would be awesome to make a movie out of the first one :)

They already did...the first movie was LOOSELY based on the first game. All one must do is take the Triangle of Light and substitute it for the Scion. Siberia is replaced with Atlantis. Boom. A few similarities to the original game's storyline. The Triangle was split in pieces and spread out around the world similar to the Scion. Other game elements were used in this film:

Tomb Raider II: Her house being invaded.

The "prayer wheels" that she claims Alex stole from her in the film are reference to the ones found in the monastery level.

Angelina performs a 180 degree roll move and also says "Ah Ha" when she reloaded her guns.

Tomb Raider III: The giant statue that comes to life in Angkor Wat was inspired by the shiva statues that come to life in this game.

The first film was a good first try, but it did disappoint. Had they stuck with the original storyline of her parents disowning her rather than Hollywoodize it by having them both dead, it would have been a better film. I so was looking forward to the plane crash in the Himalayas that made her realize she liked being out on her own. They could have easily made a Batman Begins-like film with her character and backstory.

The second was very good, in my opinion. A few faults, but much more enjoyable.

I'm excited she's agreed to do a third movie. A scriptwriter was hired by Paramount and hopefully it's done right. We'll see...

Well let's see now, Tomb Raider 8 will be called "Legend 2" and will continue and finish the mystery of Avalon. Other than that, I believe I heard or saw the rumour that Tomb Raider 9 will be based on the 3rd movie.

No Tomb Raider 9 will tie in with the third movie, not "be based on the movie" just means the same story will be spread across both either as a two part story where you need to see or play both parts to get the full story. Or possibly as vague as just having something similiar in both that could possibly be related, such as the same location but different times, or the same enemies in two completely different stories.

Doubt it, most likely it's due to new technologies all the time the games get produced. Her features will be changed for TR8 again, don't worry. Unlike Core, Crystal isn't afraid of keeping up with current technical resources.
