As of December 2006, it isn't.

I've mentioned in another thread that backwards compatibility isn't one of Microsoft's priorities for the Hex-Box2; so wouldn't hold my breath!

Pain isn't it, i'm wondering how sony will manage PS1 and 2 backwards compatability on PS3.

The rumor is that there's a slimline PS2 inside the PS3.

Not sure what to make of that, though!

Ps3 is fully backwards compatible like Ps2 was but from what i hear it's not perfect (same as on the PS2 i guess)

I was really thinking along the lines of how can you save if theres no damn memory cards in a PS3?

There's an extra adapter you have to buy in order to use PS1/PS2 memory cards.

To save PS3 games, the internal hard drive and I'm sure there'd be a memory card type thing.

Okay if you want to have Defiance B/C then do what I'm doing.

Send a polite email asking Microsoft to put it on their next update. They promise to read every email sent to them and take them in to consideration.

Here's the email: backcomp@microsoft.com

Do it!

I think it will be soon. Right now though, I want freaking MS to put Prince of Persia 2 and 3 BC so I can play the entire trilogy.
