wy are there transports

I shaw on the website at warmachines that there are transport schips

what do you think they are for:confused:

i am not sure about single player, but i have read that in multiplayer there is a game type where both teams have some transports and need to get the transports to the opposing teams island, while trying to stop the enemies transports from reaching their island

More than likely transport ships will have an effect on supplies for your fleet (replace planes/men/fuel) or maybe the islands have an efect on the fleet and if the transports don't make it to the islands then your fleet can also be affected.

invasion forces
targets to be attacked or protected depnding on the scenario

they will be used to invade islands, in game play trailer 3 (you can find it here (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/strategy/midway/media.html)) they say that later in the mission you will land forces on the island of tulagi.
