After checking out this forum, I've seen that a lot of you are
desperate for a patch to get released. I've got no problems with
the patch, as a matter of fact, I would like to have a patch too.
The problem is with all this 81tc4ing and whining, we are getting no where,
so instead of just creating pointless topics and nagging for a patch, why
do we put our brains together and tell the developers what needs to be
fixed and offer suggestions as to what can be improved. This is so that
when a patch is actually released, it will satisfied all of us.
Character's movment
It seems like in this game, there is no "sprint" options or
the "run" option. If the character is actually "running" in its current
state, then I say it's more of jogging than running or sprinting.
Sometimes when getting to a vechicle is a pain especially if
getting to that vehicle is at a distance and you on a mission.
By saying this, I believe that no just only me, but I say most
of us players would like fixed on this.
Please fix the character's movement by adding a sprint or run
option.
Sound Settings
After looking at several magazines, it seems that this game
promoting the Sound Blaster X-Fi. But many of us don't have
this top of the line card. Although I do, but this is not about me
it's for those who does not have. The sound setting needs to be
more redefined, it needs a drop down list so that users can choose among the choices of sound cards that is available.
Once they have choosen their specific sound card,
then the game will optimized it so that
players won't experience delays or lag in sound.
Onboard: AC-97
Intel HD
Add ons: Standard Sound card
Sound Blaster series [the old school type ]
Sound Blaster Audigy/Audigy2
Sound Blaster X-Fi
Add additional options for EAX support.
Vehicle handling
Like someone else had mentioned in this forum. The handling
on the vehicles really needs some attentions. It seems that
almost all vehicles have no traction. Every time when I drive
it feels like I'm driving on ice. And somehow their like no sense
of balance, as if the car would just flip at any moment or serve off
to the side of the road.
Please fix this issue, add tractions or do what ever you needed to do
so that us players when driving won't feel that our player is driving
a "death car". :D
Video Settings
I don't exactly remeber how is was said in the manual. Somewhere
along it a small sections says that this game was designed
by using the Nvidia's FX, 6, and 7 series gpus. And if a player wants
all the best of what the game can bring them, then playing on the 7 series
gpu would be the best choice. Although that is not really a issues at least to me since havining a 6600GT PCIe is able to handle the newer gen video architecture such as Shader Model 3.0. The thing is it would be great to
add additional options to the video settings so that we can adjust it.
It was already mentioned in a another topic by another member of this site, but I do agree with him that gamma, brightness, and other advance video setting needs to be added. :)
Game Play
One thing that really annoys the hell out of me, and I'm sure
it's probably annoys some of you too. Is this constant saying of
"Stop Policia" and something else which I can't remeber. But after playing
GTA, hearing that and the helicopter hovering above my head, put me into as if I was being wanted even though my wanted meter says I'm not.
Please add a fix to that, thanks.
Ohh and this can also be the reason as to why most players have sound lagging issues. To much activity where as most sound card won't be able to handle it like the X-Fi. During the game play I experience that there is constant interaction from almost everywhere. Such as the helicopter hoveing above me and firing
its weapon at who know what. Ai firing their bullets at on another, vehicles exploding, gernades going off and other sound.
X-Fi can handle up to 128 voices
where as the Audigy 2 ZS it's got 64.
Plus with the X-RAM on the X-Fi at 64MB (only on the Fatal1ty and Elite Pro. The Xtreme Music and Platinum does not have X-RAM)
those can be another advantage as to other sound cards.
Well that's all I can think of right now, but if there is anything else that I can think off, or if you have something then I think it's best we put out all of
out though right here.
Overall I give this game a 8 out of 10. but
if the patch released and it fixes those issues then I would and I believe many of you others will be satisified as well.
Game played on a
Intel 2.8 (Dual Core)
1GB DDR2 667 (2x512) at dual channel mode
2x160 SATA 3G running in stripped mode
Nvidia 6600GT PCIe x16
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
And one more thing, is the requirement need to be more specific.
According to the recommend requirements of this game you will need at least
a 2.8Ghz processor to play, but these days there are dual core and
the those Intel Core 2 Duo, they perform better than it's higher clock running cousins even though they are running at low frequency.
e.g. A Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 running at 1.83GHz is able to smoke its sibling
the Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 965 which runs at a smoldering road melting
3.73GHz!
