If the other ones that had a lot more entries failed, what makes you think this will?

What makes you think anythign succeds? Your question was full of holes and pity. Try doing something for the series you love.

Logic, reason, history of past attempts, etc. Y'know, something more than the blind hope of people who won't(or can't) move on.

history of past attempts
I'm sorry do you actually know how many peititions ahve succeded?
Logic,
No I think what you refer to is flawed logic, ya see kev in the real world logic is intellecutual foundation, and so prehaps when you udnerstand the purpose of thsi petition or rather the purpose of petitions in general you'll begin to see your mistake, if it still isn't clear to you, just polietly ask and I'll spell it out for you. In the meantime you best burrow deep.
Y'know, something more than the blind hope of people who won't(or can't) move on.
Blind hope? Last time I looked eidos hasn't announced a game yet but it hasn't announced the series' disbandonment either, the only thing that is blind is you, seems to me as if your exaggerations need to be bent back out of shape and brought back into reality.
Oooo look at a shot at me for trying to aid something that I and thousands of others enjoy.... might that suggest three things:
1) You're insecure about your own ability to act.
2) Considering you're on a LoK forum (which according to you is a doomed franchise) wouldn't that suggest you have nothign better to do than put others down or prehaps it's merly you have nothing to do in life? Here's a suggestion climb to the highest point you can in the nearest five miles and jump. Then bleed to death.:) (I think youd eserve a second smiley) :)
3) You yourself can't move on given you are here.:) (That is perfectly plausible given your logic as the basis)
P.S. Look thee's a hgihway outside, go and sit on it!

Well it's very nice to start a thread like this with such negativity.
Here is my view on the matter: A petition, while it may not succeed, is an extremely easy way to try and do something for a cause that you believe in, whether it's stopping third world hunger or petitioning for a new LoK game. I just did it, out of curiosity if nothing else, and it may interest you to know that it took a very, very short amount of time to do. Rather than insulting and arguing with one another, you could both be doing something rather more constructive. If you don't want to sign a petition, there's no reason to discourage others from doing so, just don't sign it. And there's no reason to insult someone for stating the obvious. Petitions DON'T usually work. But that doesn't mean that you have to put a stop to them. It's better to try something futile, than to do nothing at all.

I am doing somethign constructive after all I did make the petition.
And it isn't futile but that's my opinion.

By "doing something constructive" I meant that time spent insulting/arguing could have been better invested elsewhere, and by "futile" I meant that petitions are usually a last-ditch effort. :) Anyway, I'm making a banner for this thing!

So, will we have a sequel? Because lots of holes were left behind in the story. Anyway, in the time between SR2 and Defiance, Eidos have not disappointed the fans of the serie. I just hope it comes sooner!
