You should'nt obey the laws unless a cop is near.

I am visiting California at the moment, and I was shocked to learn you can’t smoke in the restaurants and bars. I agree with having no smoking areas for people who don’t smoke, becos it’s not nice for a nonsmoker when you are eating and someone next to you is puffing away, but a complete ban!!! I can’t believe that, I’m sitting in a bar drinking and I have to go outside for a smoke!!!! Something about that isn’t right..

Welcome to the People's Republic of California. Don't worry, your own island is headed the same way eventually, I suppose the natural British disinclination to pester people in their personal lives is the only thing that's stopped the Mommy State from completely putting the kaibosh on such dodgy personal freedoms as the right to kill one's self slowly.

I totally agree with Prelude. Not being able to smoke in a bar is somehow kinda fascist, sorry to say. Btw, is it true somehow that the mayor of New York forbade smoking in terrasses?

I'm in Bellflower and I'm having the time of my life!!!! This place is great. You have the biggest nicest cream cakes I've ever seen!! I don't really want to go home, but I have to, becos I need to slowly kill myself by smoking myself to death :p

You aren't braking the law if you they don't catch you. ;)
