Thanks! Downloading now...if I can just get the pieces together, I'll be happy.
Edit: I was unsure about this, but, as stated on the download page, Stuffit Expander (on my Mac) did in fact put Humpty back together again. :)
Nice, Tom.
I've played through my copy of the demo - very interesting. Even though the game is quite simplified, I did die a few times. :p

Sheesh! are they serious releasing that waste of download and blank DVD.... I've had more fun with the worst ever TR custom level. FGS! the background music is from the old TR's, what ever happenend to the original score?
Was this created in someones back bedroom? It looks like an amateur production.
This must be the worst TR release ever......

So does the dvd game continue the story
Joshorty
10-10-2006, 05:40 PM
No...you can say it's a remake (story-wise) 'cause it now has complete endings...that we all mind boggled about 'cause the ending on the PS2/PC version was so...incomplete:scratch:

Ok:
The iDVD is not a continuation of AOD, and it is NOT TR8.

well maybe if this sells well than they could make continuations! but probably not because it looks like this is just crafted out of clips of AOD:(

A little FYI on the demo. It was a demo sent to me by the PR agent at
Goldhil the people developing the game. I got approval from them
to upload it to Lara Croft Online so everyone could try it and play.
It is a legit demo disk and not an illegal copy. So have no fear it is the real
thing and quite safe to enjoy!

So what is the big secret about the ending? What was different?

Why is the demo so big - almost two gigs?
Treeble
10-15-2006, 07:15 AM
Probably because the whole game isn't rendered real time, but recorded videos in a rather high quality. Every choice you make, in theory, would require a new segment, so in the end what you are downloading is a collection of hi-rez videos, that's why it's big.

Once you've dowloaded all 10 files you need winrar (http://www.winrar.com/free_download_winrar_software.cfm?nft=1&t=4&p=4)
Open one of the files in WInrar to see the single ISO file or Image File.
This image file is a copy of the demo DVD in a form to make an exact copy.
You will find a single file to extract which is the file you burn about 2.5gig in size.
Then you'll need a DVD burner and software like Nero (http://ww2.nero.com/enu/index.html) to make the DVD.

What you can do is to download a DVD emulator programme like Daemon tools, and you can load the ISO image on your PC with that, without having to burn it to a DVD first.

Interesting trailer. It looks like a relaunch of AoD with a better storyline and enhanced support. Either way I might buy this game and see for myself.:)

That is called iDVD :D Haven't you ever played Interactive DVD Games coming with movie dvd's? Like those with Harry Potter Goblet of Fire etc...

12-25-2006, 08:59 AM
most games that come out nowadays are interactive dvd's - they're games on a dvd.
this doesn't explain where this fits in as a TR game: is it true that its only 2-3 hours long?
surely then it must be the worst TR ever?
Treeble
12-26-2006, 01:30 PM
It's like a 3 hour cutscene, "essential" to keep the storyline moving. Certainly can't be worse than AOD itself, as it doesn't have the huge problem that were the controls.

Nice, the gameplay seems better than the AoD gameplay. lol
So, is it basically an AoD playable in DvD? Would be nice if so...I couldn't finish AoD because it has such a crap gameplay. :P
