Both are outstanding. One in a Rube Goldberg way ( http://www.rubegoldberg.com/ )
The other a freewheeling musical graphic. You have missed something if you haven't experienced either.
MSLEDD had another like the "Honda" one posted last year, but with TTLG OOS at the moment, I can't find the link.
Enjoy :p

That first one is brilliant, but the second one, is a load of balls! :p

Cool! I've seen the first one before. Unlike the second one, the first one is completely real, and took around 600 takes just to get it right, if memory serves me well. The final product was actually two shots, which switched at the single wheel part of the video, I think.

The other guitar player in my band has a DVD of the second one. We just finished installing a high def projection system in the band room. It was pretty cool watching that stuff on a screen that's 6 feet wide!:)

Those have been floating around the web for a while now. Pretty cool. My cousin had sent me a link with a bunch of the Rube Goldberg style machines a while back. I think Ebaumsworld has a number of those that were done in Japan.

I'd never seen the Honda one. Very fun and a great diversion for the lunch hour. My neighbor's 6 year old creates stuff like that with blocks and Hot Wheels. I wonder if he'll "expand" to that level of detail someday? :D

That, I do not believe

606 takes, two cameras, four and a half months, 6 million dollars:

Well, there seems to be general consensus that it's real, so I have to accept it!
This seems like one of those ads that's designed to win ad marketing firm "pat yourself on the back" artsy awards, instead of actually being a good advertising investment for the company.

It oddly reminds me of Tom & Jerry...
How I used to love those cartoons.

Very odd indeed. I can help by wonder: what is the general idea of it "being real"? I am pretty sure it would have taken significantly less time and money to do it CGI way. And considering that most people will assume that it's fake anyway - what's the big difference?

Not much of a difference in the visual way, maybe slightly. Probably a difference to them, that made it. Because they can say, it was all done by hand. Which in of itself is a rare feet these days.

Honda adverts do seem to be quite good:

I also found this one for Austin Rover:

MsLEDD let us see it 3 years ago. :rasp:

Well, yeah... sure. But there are many things that are rare and are done by hand. For example, mowing a lawn using nothing but manicure scissors. It's hard, tedious but technically possible. And you can definitely impress your neighbours by saying that you've done it by hand. However, would you actually consider doing it? Personally, I wouldn't. :p
I think they just ripped Honda off. LOL. 6 million dollars for 2 minute commercial with nothing in it but moving car parts? Right...

Umm, what ad are you talking about? I was talking about the honda ad in first place. O_o They did it, touche' for them that they did. And how many people would cut their lawn with scissors? You're comparing that to the Honda ad? Bit poor of a comparison if you ask me. :P
Yes, I'm talking about Honda ad, but I assume they hired someone to actually design and produce it, like an advertising company.

It wouldn't be half as awesome if it were CGI, and it wouldn't have had the same impact on those who saw it (and recognized it as being real™).

As much as I love that honda ad, there isn't enough fire. It needs to have more pyrotechnics! Pyrotechnics that rival those of Rammstein concerts!
