I can't zoom with my laptop

I just went through the tutorial and the arrows work. but zooming with my laptop mouse doesn't. Is there any other way, like a short cut? Do I have to buy a desk mouse with real a wheel?

the + / - keys should do the trick, as far as I remember

I have tryed these keys alone or with ctrl, shift... and nothing happened. I am talking about the europe map. I cannot play battles because I have a bug. My laptop restart automatically.

Try the laptop friendly patch (http://www.tafn.info/phpscripts/filesdb/details.php?file=10) I believe it solves the zooming problem.
