I know this is irrelevant but PLEASE HELP!!

All I did was insert an audio CD and then all the stuff you see on your desktop is gone!!! I can't click on anything. All I see is the wallpaper - NOTHING ELSE. I did Alt+Ctrl+Delete thing but there's hardly anything for me to do or at least, I don't see it popup!! How do I fix this problem?!?!?!

I even restarted the computer but then when it loads your user, you see all the stuff on the desktop than they all vanish again - leaving the wallpaper only!!
*audio CD is official copy/original copy
*I own a windows XP Professional
*it's my bro's computer and he's not gonna like to find this!!

I have a computer problem at the moment where people are giving me helpful suggestions which I've posted there. Posting over there will mean more Eidos forum members (such as the LOK, thief & Hitman etc people as well) should see your questions, not just us tombies. :)
