View Full Version : Lack of shell casings.

I was wondering why only the Spas 12 and certain sniper rifles have shell casings ejecting from the weapon, and not all the other weapons like the pistols or SMG,s?

I have the 360 version btw. I was hoping that the team could release a patch for XBL to include this standard feature.

I wouldn't say they're lazy, to add such a feature would require tremendous testing and additional work for such a small feature.

The engine is getting pushed to it's limit as it is. I guess they could have added recyclable doodads.

I'm assuming they never added it because the engine doesn't support dynamic entities robustly (blood trails behind bodies is the closest thing). An entire new management system would have to be put in place for shell casings, using the existing entity manager for shell casings would have crippled the games playability during a gun battle. (47's shell casings plus enemy shell casings = major amplification of doodad spawns ).
