View Full Version : A more human (feminine) Lara

Lara Croft, as a character, had evolved a lot as a character since TR 1. I think it's time for a more human side of her to appear. For example: why can't the players put her to lay in her bed in TR: Legend? Why can't we turn on and off a radio? Why can't she lay down and get sun tan in her home? I think small actions like these would be a nice change of pace from the frenetical action of the main game mode. On the next game, she could express more emotions, care for someone, maybe even have a love interest. And no, I'm not a girl. Am I the only one expecting for a game where we could see a more human Lara? Maybe if there is enough fans supporting this, the producers could throw elements of this nature on the next game. (Sorry for the bad English)

I completely disagree. Tomb Raider is about globetrotting, exploration, and finding ancient civilizations that bury secrets within. If you want to see a more emotional Lara who falls in love, download the Lara Croft skin for the Sims. ;)

Wasn't AJ human enough? I say Lara should remain the character she is.

I'll second that de-emotion. Go and buy The Sims you big pansy.
EDIT: Oh I see you got there first with the sims comment Johnny...
BTW as well also - Anyone think the level at the party is dead like the Sims?

Why the rudeness? Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

HAHA... this is one of the funniest ideas I've ever read in a TR forum. Why would we want to micromanage Lara's life? What's next? As Lara's exploring a tomb, she'll suddenly turn to the camera and say, "I need to relieve myself," and then we'll have to find a bush behind which she can squat? No thanks. As other have said, the game is about adventure. If we start worrying about whether or not she goes to sleep or has a sun tan, well, jeez, it will be like playing with a doll house or something.

I guess I didn't understand this thread earlier. :(
I'm feeling stupid.
btw, from my experince of boot camp:
no, there's no time to do that :nut: Lara's spending most of the time of her adventures in "wild" places, not in a hotel. she needs to survive, not to shave her legs! :lmao:

Cast out the adventure in favor of a emotional behavior is a stupid and silly idea - Without the tombs, it's not Tomb Raider at all. But there are just so many ways to combine the two things in gameplay and storyline that reffuse the idea immediately is a limited vision. The sun tan and radio are obviously just easter eggs in the croft manor level - that would justify the hard work unlocking the bikini costume in TR - Legend, for example.
... and the Sims sucks :D

Oh well, each to their own, could be kind of interesting

Oh Mangar, you have me in stiches

I'd feel more like a stalker than an adventurer. :p

I dont think it's such a bad idea maybe not suntanning but yea I think like a little side adventure in her mansion would be cool. I think she should once again have her assult course like in TR3. Inside and outside. There really isn't much to do in Lara's house after you find all the secrets or rewards they should make it a little more entertaining when players want to take a break from the regular playing action in the game. Maybe have like a shooting range and Lara has to shoot so many targets......so forth and so on I'm sure everyone can catch my drift.

Boy can we (I for one)! I miss the mansions. And to have tasks in them like that is a great idea! Something more varied than the assault and quad bike courses, I mean.
