OK,
My Hitman crashes after the loading screen and the intro movie. I know there are many topics about that, but I just want a personal answer...
I also tried all the tweaks and patched it up to version 1.2, always the same stuff. I used the original DVD to try playing: also crash. I run it with a crack and I do also have the same...
My system specs:
CPU: 1Ghz (I know its not enough but I cant even reach the damn menu?!)
Video: Geforce 6200
RAM: 512MB
i think, i normally should be able to run the game in very low settings. I don't care those damn graphics, just wanne play a bit...
Hope someone can help me out, thx anyway,
Greetz

Exactly what processor do you have in that dinosaur? I ask because if it only runs at 1 Ghz it cannot possibly be a Pentium 4 (they started out at 1.8 Ghz) or an Athlon XP (which started about 1.5 Ghz). It's entirely possible the game requires SSE instructions, which may not be supported by your CPU.
In addition, don't use any cracks.
Reinstall the game, patch to 1.2 and run with original DVD.

I have the exact same problem, 'cept my specs are:
3 GHz Pentium 4
512 Mb RAM
Geforce 4 Ti 4800 SE
I also have installed the new patch. Is there anything we can do to rectify this?
Im such a fan of the hitman series, all I want to do is play it on my pc.

That's your problem, right there. The Ti4800 is nothing more than a Ti4200 that's on an AGP 8X interface instead of AGP 4X like the earlier ones. That card supports pixel shader 1.4, and you need 2.0. I think you still have to change some settings even with the new patch in order to get the game to run. If you've already changed the .ini files, then disregard what I posted.

Im having the exact same problem too and it just started happening today. I played the first to missions just fine.
AMD 2700+
1Gb RAM
Geforce 6800 GS
I updated to the new patch, updated video drivers and even reinstalled the game. I got rid of audio excelleration also.:mad2:

it's a very old processor...AMD Duron (shame on me). I don't play that much games but here and then there are some I want to have... Like Hitman BM. I think it's the processor... I will need to buy a new one for this game? Think it's the only way out or am I wrong?
Greetz and thx :)

And BTW: Normally I can play pretty much games, I'm able to play COD2, Battle for middle earth, NFS: Most Wanted, these are also games were I don't have the minimum specs for... But those can I play without much problems... So it really amazed me why I couldn't play Hitman...

well those games are older and this one is new. The box even says REQUIREMENTS: 1.5Ghz

indeed but they also require that much processor power...

It may well be SSE support. Duron processors don't have that instruction set built into them. I don't know for certain that's what's causing your crashes, but it could be. If the game gives an SSE command, and your processor can't do it, boom - down it goes. The problem with upgrading is finding a processor to fit. That's probably a Socket 370 processor, in which case you'll want to see if you can find an Athlon XP processor for it. Those aren't made anymore, though, and are well outdated as well. My recommendation would be to rebuild the system completely, but you may not be able to afford that.

I'm pretty sure I have not made any changes, but then again I could have. You mentioned I may have to make some changes to make it run, is there a way of telling me what to change if I send my .ini file?
I think you can delete ini file (maybe back it up first).
They you should run configure.exe. It comes with the latest patch. In there, select shadermodel 1 and save. It will create new ini file for you.

ok I will try that now. I would just like to say thanks for you're quick replies and thanks for the help. It's greatly appreciated.

I managed to get Blood Money running by updating my BIOS - have you done this recently? Running on an AMD 3000+ with 6800gt... had nothing but problems until I did that.
Also, the main menu is actually "in engine" - it runs a flyover of a scene from the game in the background. Not your usual easy on the system main menu!
Such a shame - all these problems with such a great game :mad2:

This was my vision too and i totally agree with that. Well, cant affort... I'm have a job btw so it isn't such a big deal... Only **** is: New processor = new mobo, new mobo is also new RAM-memory (cause I stille use SDR)... So that will cost me a few 100€'s :)

Exactly what model Duron is it? Since you mentioned cost in Euros, I assume you're somewhere in Europe, so I can't really suggest anything on availability (I buy from Newegg, and they don't ship outside the US). The listing I have shows all Durons on Socket 462 (Socket A or Socket 370 are identical) you could stick an Athlon XP processor in it, providing A) you can find one, and B) your motherboard supports it. There's a bunch for sale on eBay, but I couldn't vouch for condition of any of those.

I just tried it. however unfortunatly for me, it still doesn't work. Is there any way of me being able to play this game with my current graphics card?
Well, too bad it doesn't work for you but keep in mind that GF4 is not a supported card. I don't know what causes the problem, shaders or something else.
You can try to circumvent the menu. Some people with GF4 managed to play the game this way.
Open HitmanBloodMoney.ini and find this line:
DefaultScene=HitmanBloodMoney.gms
Change it to:
DefaultScene=M00/M00_intro.gms
Save. This should take you to the 1st level.

Well the game runs smoothly, no lag or anything like that. However, as soon as I fire my pistol in the first level, the game crashes to the desktop. Any suggestions?
Quillan

That was supposed to be fixed by the 1.2 patch. Are you certain you have that one?
hustler1ne
06-25-2006, 06:26 AM
i think i know what the problem is. i have the 1.2 patch installed. however, when the game wasnt working the first time i tried it on another computer, which is at work. i left the dvd there, so i had to use the 1.1 crack to play here, even though 1.2 is installed. im guessing that is the key of the problem?

That would be my guess as well.
