installation problems

I just bought TOMBRAIDER LEGEND and was so looking forward to playing
this game. However I didn,t see on the box pc dvd-rom before I purchased it.
I just glanced at the specs and saw pc rom etc. So when I tried to install
the game it doesn't seem to recognize the cd. I have tried several times and
on two different computers as well. When I use my control panel and go to
install new cd ..... it won't accept this information. It asks me to to go
browse....??? Sorry I'm lost as not very technical with computers. I guess
what my main question is ... do I need a dvd burner-player to install this
game? Thank you for any help.

You need a DVD-drive in order to install and play the game. A CD-drive is not able to read a DVD. You either have to buy a DVD-drive (which is fairly cheap) or get the online version of Tomb Raider Legend.

Before doing so, you better make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements. Considering your PC isn't equipped with a DVD-drive I suspect it might fall short of several other requirements.
