Has anyone been able to complete TRL using the Trymedia version??

For those who don't know, Trymedia is the downloadable version from Trygames.com.

A lot of people can't proceed past Kazakhstan, or have other crashes that make it impossible to play the game through, regardless of video settings, driver updates, etc.

If you have played through the Trymedia version, please post details (video card, Windows version, and whether you used NexGen content). Thanks.

I got mine from direct2drive and haven't had any problem playing through the game without 'next gen' enabled. The second I turn it on, the game runs like ass and the thing crashes in certain places 100% of the time.

Is direct2drive affiliated with Trymedia or is it a different service altogether? I couldn't tell from their web sites.

Go to http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr7/gamesaves.html and download the savegames installer. Run the installer and only install the saved game for the beginning of England.

Start TRL, load the England savegame. However, instead of Resuming choose load again, but this time choose replay level and choose Kazakhstan. Then choose a different outfit than the default for Kazakhstan, and the level will load, and you can play.

The only downside is that if you like collecting the rewards, they have already been found in this savegame.
