TR 2 gold

When I try to setup the downloaded TR 2 gold game on my PC, it starts downloading Ability Office 4 for installation. Is this right, should it be doing this? :eek:

If anyone can explain I'd be grateful. Thanks. :)

It's not when I download the TR2 gold file itself, it's later when I click on the file to install TR2 gold. It starts the setup process then suddenly starts downloading the Ability Office 4, which it then asks me if I want to install! :eek:

I was just going to click,"yes install", like I normally do with these things, but it seems odd even to me. I've installed TR1 gold already and nothing like that happened with that.

When you installed TR2 gold you didn't get the same thing? :confused:

It shouldn't be doing that. I just tried and it installed normally.

Do you get to the part where the installer displays the Software License Agreement? Or does the *.exe extract and then initiates the Ability Office 4 download?

Have you tried deleting the files in c:\windows\temp?

I click on the file, it brings up the WinZip Self extractor box. I click "setup" and then the "Windows Installation Wrapper" takes over and starts looking on the internet for Ability.msi. This it downloads and then asks me if I want to install Ability Office 4.

There must be something not right with my system, but I don't have the kind of knowledge needed to put it right. :rolleyes: :D

I tried deleting the temporary files like you said, but still have the same result unfortunately.

Any more ideas are most welcome, otherwise I guess I'll have to get the CD version and bypass the Windows Installation Wrapper... sigh.

Luckily the lovely Nerevar has helped me get the files another way and that has worked perfectly. The Golden Mask... here I come, hehehe. :D

I'm so glad I finally got around to getting these expansions (Eidos why did you not do these for the PS!!). Temple of the Cat in TR1 Gold was particularly awesome. :cool:

It would be so nice if they put all the expansion levels onto one disk for the Playstation and maybe they could release it as a bonus with the 10th Anniversary edition.
