Stuck before Takamoto's penthouse

Playing the PC version of TRL, I have reached the last small platform before
the penthouse balcony. I'm supposed to quickly climb a vertical pole (using 'E' key) then swing and jump to 4 horizontal poles to get to the balcony. I've tried a zillion times and Lara ALWAYS misses the first horizontal pole. I've tried
jumping from the vertical pole on the left and the right sides; I've tried jumping before or at the top of the vertical pole. I get the same results - she
misses the first horizontal pole. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

You have to line her up before jumping.

Remember, hold space (jump) for a longer jump

Move the camera behind her, then it is much easier. You don't actually have to have her facing the right way to jump off - pressing jump and a direction will make her go that way.
