no i dont remember but now u have me thinking amanda does strangly enough sound like ms natla......oh no its the evil jacqueline natla back for more......hehehe......i'm sure the developers have some sneaky secrets up their sleaves to connect all the tomb raiders together.....lol it would be so cool if they found a link between them all and made us think back to playing the old games.....

It's the same with Rutland, you kill him off in one level but he is there in the last level Bolivia Redux.

If they really did die new enemies would have to be created for any future episodes.

You don't kill him in Ghana. You beat him down until you can take the sword fragment, his power source. Without that, he's not even close to a match for Lara. I think he actually does die at the end, though. Perhaps Amanda's role in the next TR is trying to get to Avalon to bring him back. This would keep with their construction as foils, as both Lara and Amanda would be there for the sake of someone they love. And maybe you could play as both with multiple endings!

I'm so glad that Amanda's not dead! I think she's very interesting as a foil for Lara. In some ways, she's beyond Lara in that she's willing to believe in more than rational logic. Yet, she comes across as fairly naive, too. This dynamic between the magical and the rational makes both characters and their limitations more interesting. It's also a really fitting device for a game series that deals regularly with myths and the supernatural. That's quality writing! :thumbsup:

I think the main reason Amanda's not dead is because she forgot to use the word SPOILER in her title before printing on the front page of a TR forum a vital, 'plot spoiling' component of the ending of the latest Tomb raider game. Dumba**.

You know, that's a really good point. Super really good. You are ABSOLUTELY right. But don't you think you could've made that point without being so mean? I get that it's frustrating when people post spoilers and I hope the mods remove this thread soon, but it was probably just an honest mistake. It is a HUGE spoiler, though. I'm not arguing that you are right to be upset.

Rutland isn't dead... you see Amanda rush to him before he tells his men to attack. When you kill his men, Amanda is all pissed and becomes the final boss. And since Lara just beats the crap out of her, she lives to. Though if I was Amanda I wouldn't be to eager to see her again.

It would be cool if TR8 was all about getting to avalon and then going through ancient tombs and castles untouched by time. Myth has avalong as a place were time almost stands still. Lara's mother would look the same yet Lara herself much older. Wonder if her mother would recongnize her.
