Jolie to Star in Third ‘Tomb Raider’ Movie
By WENN| Thursday, April 20, 2006
HOLLYWOOD - Pregnant Hollywood vixen Angelina Jolie has agreed to reprise her role as Lara Croft in a third Tomb Raider movie--and she is already planning a punishing fitness regime to regain her figure after she gives birth.
The Oscar-winner, who is eight months pregnant, is currently staying at a highly guarded residence in Namibia where she is expected to give birth to her first biological child, fathered by boyfriend Brad Pitt.
And Ian Livingston, the creator of video game heroine Lara Croft, says, "Paramount has optioned it and Angelina has agreed to star in the third. If the (new) game is as successful as the others, it's likely Paramount will put the third movie into production soon."
The last Tomb Raider film, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life--made on a $90 million budget--grossed $65 million at the box office.

I'll try to keep all the movie fans updated in the coming weeks. :D :D

i don't think there's anyone else who could do Lara right, tho i think the kid should have priority rather than another movie, regardless of what it's about

Yes, it will be neat to see Angelina as Lara again. Hopefully, the third movie will be great and not suffer from the sequel syndrome.
Time will tell to see if Angelina actually does the third movie - if there is one.

Yeah, until Paramount issues a press release confirming the movie then every thing is all a rumor. But its fun to hope... :)

And Ian Livingston, the creator of video game heroine Lara Croft,
I wonder why they think Mr. Livingston created Lara Croft????

The first Tomb Raider movie was so god-awful I wanted to walk out after the first wretched scene. My friend convinced me to give it a chance, so we stayed. It sucked. I mean, it was laugh-out-loud bad.
Didn't go near the second - the general consensus suggested it was even worse than the first, go figure. I didn't need any convincing.
Now a third? No wonder Hollywood is floundering.

Personally I enjoyed both of the TR movies and I'm very much looking forward to a third one, especially if Angelina is in it:D

1) Lara is single *lil joke it doesnt really matter * :)
2) British accent
If jolie is in it this time, cover the forehead with some hair, lara isnt bald, I love jolies work and all but im still like Kerima more, just because it dont shes british.. isnt she ??? lol

You're missing one important point... if Angeling is to star in the next TR movie, buy her some brown contacts. It's Lara Croft we're talking about... I like Angelina's works, but she just wasn't Lara, get me?

Thanks for the great news, Trin! The movie will probably be released in sync with the 8th Tomb Raider game. That'll be one hell of a year for us TR fans! :D
Lara_Croft_Wanna_Be, I know you were joking :), but Karima isn't single either! :D
star_girl, about the brown contacts, I know they should've done it in the first place, but now that film Lara has blue eyes, I wouldn't want them to change it (and yes, before the Angelina fans go "hey wait a minute", I know that they look like they might be more green than blue, but for the films, the character of Lara Croft officially has blue eyes (according to the official film novels)).
I know that this might seem "wrong" but now that they have done that, I would be annoyed if they changed it. It would be very inconsistent of them! I'm fine with film Lara having blue eyes and all the rest of the Laras having brown. It's a seperate storyline anyway.
I once saw a fan art of film Lara, where someone had changed her eyes to brown. It was very interesting!

hehe... good luck with this Faye. Many people wanted an actress that had brown hair and eyes just like the game Lara. :)
Me too, I would have preferred it if Jolie had worn contacts, or if they had digitally changed the colour of her eyes, but now that they have officially set them as blue by having her in both films, I wouldn't like to see it changed. Like I said, the inconsistence would annoy me greatly. I didn't mind too much that it was inconsistent with the games; after all, they were clearly not tying into the games by making her parents dead (although you might say that Richard isn't completely "dead"...read the official film novel by Dave Stern if any of you are wondering...or just ask me if you don't mind a HUGE spoiler!).
Well, when I say "I didn't mind too much", I mean I eventually came round to it after it grumbling to myself for a while. ;)

Eeeek?
No, please, no. Just leave the franchise alone, it's taken enough punishment. Let the "game Lara" redeem Tomb Raider instead of releasing another movie flop.
PLEASE????
And (insult to injury) it's Angelina again? B###h please. She's a washed-out earth mother and a humanitarian nut that is just about as interesting as a UPS truck. Just give birth to a few more spawn of Brad Pitt, adopt another Cambodian with a mohawk and fade into obscurity...
Why don't you just tell us how you really feel?
I enjoyed both movies. I thought they were entertaining. I was never expecting this wonderful Oscar-nominated feature, nor was I examining every little imperfection (how often do you REALLY look at a person's eye color in a move?). I'd love to see another movie.

Will it be Tomb Raider: Mr and Mrs Croft:nut:
I like the spunk and physicality Angelina brings to the character, and though the films were okay. Hey it's a movie....it's not that deep:rolleyes:
PS bet if I cost 90mil and brought in 65mil no one would call me successful.

Both movies made more than what they cost but the first one was more successful.
