Next Generation on Radeon x800 series cards

Please allow Shader 2.0 to be enabled for Radeon x800 and x850 series video cards. The game supports it and these cards support it. Shader 2.0 would allow many users to experience most of the next generation graphics features. I bet this would also help out many of the nvdia 6600 and 6800 series card owners as well.

Shader 2.0 is in the registry for the game as an option that can be toggled, but the trl.exe refuses to recognize changes made to the registry entries to the game. The game also has no built in way to adjust these settings.

The way the shaders are locked smells of a mini-conspiracy to make this game seem unique to owners of Nvidia 7800+ cards which is a greasy tactic for a reputible company.

Did it occur to you that perhaps this option was disabled because it had many problems? (Not running fast enough, visual glitches, etc.)

Shader 2.0 would work perfectly fine. When the game detects nvidia cards it allows the 2.0 shaders to be enabled, its just locking out ATI based cards.

Hmm? Why do you think so? It doesn't work on any Nvidia cards that only have 2.0 either.

well if you turn off shader 3 in the regedit you then play only with shader 2 yes? hehe. Thats if you can use shader 3. Yet if its off it wont let the x800 or others the like to play with just shader 2 yet I can with my 7800. But your not missing much it still has bugs in it. They will put out a patch and fix that.
