okies, I've installed TR3 before on this pc and played it fine. I then tried to use the Nvidia display control panel application profile thingy to further improve the graphics of the game, well it froze the game and I had to uninstall TR3, remove thr profile from the display control panel. I reinstalled TR3 but the same problem happened. I got frusterated, uninstalled TR3 (again) went through the registry and deleted all references to TR3. I reinstalled it afterwards and the game works fine but the FMV's always freeze after about a second which they didn't before. does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the vids to run properly?

ps. I used the patch each time I installed the game

Have you tried turning the resolution down on the Nvidia display control panel application profile thingy as that seems to be where your problems started :)

Ok I've just tried using the FMV viewer from tombraiderchronicles.com and the problem happens with that as well with the FMV's off the hard drive and CD. I'm guessing that it's a driver issue. Any ideas?

ok, it's the sound. If I mute the FMV player the videos work perfectly. Now if I could just find out why

Could what you were working on before change some of the settings for the game?

Try windows 98 compatibility mode and/or making sure the cd is in the first cd drive.

right click on the shortcut to tomb3.exe, go to properties, select the compatibility tab, tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Windows 98. if you don't have a shortcut you can do the same for the actual tomb3.exe file

I'm also experiencing troubles with TR3 and FMVs. They won't run at all?!

I'm replaying the games and TR1-TR2 worked properly on this XP SP2 machine, and I started TR3 and I did see the Eidos FMV, then it skipped to the ring menu. I quit the game and checked, it's on compatibility to W98 and I think it has the XP patch installed (I installed them all at once and tested them back then), but no matter what I do, the FMVs won't come back?!

TIA

I've just checked and the new TR3 XP patches say they'll also copy audio and FMVs to Hard Drive, don't I have an alternative to this? I can't afford to lose additional 300mb when the game runs fine from CD, I just need the game to play the FMVs. Please help! TIA :)

try copying one of the FMVs to your hard driveand use the FMV viewer from tombraiderchronicles.com to see if it's your disk that's not working properly
