btw, Lara sounds very much like Kate Beckinsale.... :)

Another thing I noticed was that Lara will automatically pick up the ammo just by stepping over it... no more pressing the action button to pick it up. Cool.

FYI #3 and #6 are ingame cutscenes involving that monster thing + Lara + Kent + Amanda. Who the heck is Kent? :)

I think Amanda died but if I was Lara I would want to find out, or at least to go back and kill that creature. I would also feel guilty in some way

Yeah the scene where the rocks collapses, the graphics are less jumpy...and for some reason, a different colour too. In the 1Up, it was a bit more white or somethin'....who knows. And for some reason this time, Lara's hear didn't go on her shoulder when she climbs back up after the action sequence.

Not to mention...I avoided all of the new videos other then the one I mentioned 'cause..it's just too spoilish for now! I have to save those moments for the right time....

 Well sports fans I just don't know anymore. As I imagined, the graphics are wonderful but it seems that TR has, at least a little bit, has gone the way of most modern games.

A hip dude yakking in my ear telling me what to do

Lara picks up ammo automatically

Red circles around targets

Buttons appearing on the screen showing me what to press

Endless movies and cut scenes. Anyone play MGS3? 5 steps -> movie 5more steps ->movie...and on and on...

Hey, maybe if I'm lucky the game will come with an inflatable doll that will play the game for me...woo hoo :p

Maybe its Kurtis' nick name

K urtis Trent ? lol

I think they should give Kurtis a cameo :D

And yes CaninD, I feel the same way. Stepping over ammo picks it up?? Come on people...

WHAT IS THE ACTION BUTTON FOR?!??!! It does everything! Shooting, activating things, grabbing ledges, and picking stuff up. At this rate we will tap forward and all of the game's time-saving mechanisms will kick into play, leaving us to watch as Lara gets herself through the game without any help whatsoever*

*this may be a mild exaggeration but it I hope these modernisations won't get out of hand *cough* headset *cough*

I will love the game anyway, but please...

Wahey! I've probably spoiled over half the plotline by now... but it looks great. Love the original costume... does this mean that TRL is set after Lara wore that costume? I'm amazed at how much media gamespot can get their hands on. Keep it coming!

That is cool. But watch, I can almost guarantee there will be people complaining about how this completely detracts from the Tomb Raider experience.

Well, if she's stopping in mid-combat to pick up ammo while the bad guys are shooting her...

:p Well...if I were playing as a T-1000 in a terminator movie I could understand that ammo, among other objects, would disappear into my body by simply touching them with my foot. But as for humans, I think we still have to bend over the ole' fashioned way and pick things up...

Well, yeah, THAT would be annoying. Hopefully they fine-tuned it so that doesn't happen.

True enough, but humans would probably also have to stop for bathroom breaks, need to eat occasionally, wouldn't be able to jump twenty feet, etc, etc. Sometimes suspension of disbelief can be a good thing.

Honestly, the more I think about it, I don't mind either way-- if I have to press the action button to pick something up, that's fine. If I don't, that's fine too. I've played games that have used each system, and neither one really stood out as being better or worse than the other. The main thing, though, is that we don't have to pixel hunt. I hate games that require you to stand in exactly the right spot to pick something up.

LOL. I sympathesize Canin.

At some point there's got to be a threshold where if you change anything else, the game in effect is no longer a Tomb Raider game. Hopefully in Legend they haven't crossed it.

It's not so much the picking stuff up automatically, it's everything -- headset, hints, etc.

And I like picking things up I guess.

Unless Lara has developed telekinetic powers and is beaming stuff up into her backpack using her mind...

Woops, there goes the plotline twist for legend :P

No no no Star, they're not having anything supernatural/out-of-this-world stuff in Legend. Just super duper, even-the-CIA-couldn't-make-it (...clear headset comms in deep caves, mobile magno-gripper (wtf?), scanner device that they fell to Earth from the Enterprise...) believable stuff only. :D

 I guess I'm just trying to figure out in my pea brain mind why so many games are like this now. Is it from focus groups or polling data giving developers direction?, or maybe a grand conspiracy to ready the younger generation for when all weapon systems are controlled via an Xbox style pad?? I dunno' but, to me anyways, most games are becoming so easy that they are no longer fun to play. And seriously, 3/4 of the data on the MG3 CD was movies and cut scenes, I hope TRL will not be like that...

susan

My guess would be playing it safe. "If we take the top selling games this year and add that bit from this here and that bit from that there....it'll be up-to-date and what everyone wants", kind of development thinking.

But I'm biased because I love the old TR.

Plenty of people on this site seem to think this game is going to be the very, very best TR game ever. So, perhaps they are providing what most people want. Time will tell. :)

And seriously, 3/4 of the data on the MG3 CD was movies and cut scenes, I hope TRL will not be like that...I think this is such a waste when developers try to make games into films.

You wouldn't try to make a movie by recording the pages of a novel so that people can read it onscreen. That'd be a waste of film's potential.

So why waste the interactive, involving, immersive 3D-ness gameplay of games by forcing the player to sit, statically through loads and loads of non-interactive film?

From what I remember Legend has different difficulty levels. Maybe what we are seeing is the easiest setting.

Nice, I would never look under x-box, sence I have PS2. Do you guys think that would be at the end of the game with that monster? Sux that girl died.:(

Lara was wearing her green top so it looks like a flashback of when she was younger.
